BOLA REPORT

THE FISHING FOR YELLOWS WAS THE BEST I'VE EVER SEEN IN DECEMBER, THE FIRST DAY WE FISHED BARNYBYS WITH THE MEXICAN CONECTION AND THE BITE WAS WIDE OPEN FOR 10 TO 20 POUND YELLOWS. WE WERE CASTING SURFACE IRON AND DROPPING IRON DOWN TO 200 FEET AND HAD DOUBLES AND TRIPLES ON MY BUDDY PHILS BOAT. THE YELLOWS WERE PUSHING THE BAIT UP AND WITHIN 2 HOURS WE HAD 11 FISH ON THE BOAT AND LOST ABOUT 6. WE ALLSO CAUGHT SOME NICE GROUPER THAT WE RELEASED. DAY TWO WE HIT A HOT BITE AT PUNTA PESCADERO AND OUR FIRST HOOK UP WAS A TRIPLE IN 160 FEET RIGHT ON THE BOTTOM AND THEY WERE BRUISERS, ONE BY ONE WE WERE BUSTED OFF ON THE ROCKS WITH REELS ASMOKEN. WE ENDED UP WITH THREE ON THE BOAT(ALL ON SURFACE IRON) AND LOST 5 BEFORE THE BITE ENDED. TRIED TO CALL IN FRANK-O AND DAVID A ON THE BITE BUT WERE HAVEING RADIO PROBLEMS(LOW BATTERIES), THEY DID EVENTUALLY ARRIVE AS THE BITE ENDED. THERE WERE LOTS OF WHALES AROUND AND THE WIND WAS CALM. GOOD EATS AT THE NEWS YEARS PARTY(ABOUT 70 PEOPLE SHOWED UP) AND LOTS OF FIRE WORKS LITE THE SKY UP. WE HAD A FULL DAY OF RAIN ON NEW YEARS EVE BUT THAT DIDNT STOP THE GANG OF PEOPLE FROM HAVEING FUN, BEERS WERE PASSED AROUND BETWEEN FRIENDS AND LOTS OF PEOPLE VISITING EACH OTHER. ALL IN ALL A GOOD TRIP AND LOOK FORWARD TO MY NEXT TRIP DOWN IN FEBUARY:coolup:

Xmas/New Years Week

Hay Stevo! Great report on that last trip, especially the fish report. You really had a great time telling the stories about the big one that got away. It was great watching you with that cigar in your mouth, Pacifico at the ready, and that knife flying thru all those yellows. Whiskey Girl made great Saviche for the party as well. I will be looking forward to your visit in Feb.. See ya old buddie!
