Ray's Place restaurant/Mulege- opening info and pix of 4/27

As we all know, the Ray's Place of Santispac is long gone. But the great food and good times are again just around the corner. His new "Resort" features a new Ray's Place restaurant, RV park, clubhouse with pool, rental bungalows and upscale casas for sale on quarter acre plots. The resort is called "Hacienda la Habana". Here's the fancy entrance gate-

The restaurant will be on the second floor. Real estate office is on the lower floor. It was expected to be open the first week of May, but because there is still no electric there yet, construction is slow. Ray still hopes he will be open by the last week of May. Keep an eye on the BajaNomad as the open date will appear here first.

Ray (pictured) plans a lot more activities at this new Place...guest chef night...and a number of special menus.

The Clubhouse features a great kitchen and this deck with bar.

Taken from the Clubhouse porch, the pool with swim-up bar

The houses for sale are on quarter lots. One is now finished and a second is under way. Ray has his own well with lots of good water he says.

There are two bulgalows for rent near the Clubhouse and more to follow-

The RV park has a full-hookups for about 25 or so RV's-

Take the old ice house road and you will pick up good signs all the way from the ice house to his place, less than three miles from the highway (Mex 1). When the office is complete on the lower floor, it will have an operating email address for sales and restaurant. So Ray says keep an eye out on the Nomad for the opening date.

"Ray has his own well with lots of good water he says."

Aparently, the Mulege river runs underground right under Ray's house, after travelling underground all the way from San Ignacio's lake. It bubbles to the surface in the grove of palms 1/2 mile east of his home.

He will never have a shortage of water. That's why he has all those green lawns - so refreshing to the eye after so much desert.

All power to Ray!!
