new hotel in BoLA?

So I looked on the website of that new hotel in Bahia, out of curiosity, and could not find their prices anywhere which is unusual. I cant' remember seeing a hotel website before that didn't somewhere list rates. So I emailed the place to inquire about rates, for those trips maybe when I'm too tired to pack up for camping at Gecko and want to be pampered! They emailed me back that they are still under construction and opening in May, and since I was inquiring, I could have 20 percent off. But 20 percent of WHAT? They still didn't tell me what their rates are going to be.

Marla, I think it's going to be pretty exclussive... That's what I heard from Marv (Baja Calendars) who's place is next door, at La Ventana.
As for the reason they don't post prices: IF you have to ask, you can't afford it! LOL!

The Casa del Sol motel has always been well spoken of...

We check that hotel out every time we go out to La Gringa. It seems to be a high quality construction and there is always a crew working. It has a dozen or so individual unattached rooms on the beach side and the two-story hotel just west of the rooms. Last month they had finished most of the construction, laid a beautiful cobblestone driveway/parking area, and it looked like they would be done just about time for summer fun. Someone told us the individual rooms were planned to be part of a timeshare venture. Also, they had "oiled and graveled" the road from the village to Larry and Raquels (about 1/3 of the way to La Gringa, or half way to the hotel. It will be the nicest hotel in Bahia or so it seems. With "Sol" getting $45/night, Guillermos demanding somewhere around $60, the Diaz ranch $25 for rustic rooms, I would guess the new place will be in the $75-$100/night for the basic rooms. Just a guess, but its got to be more expensive as they will have to generate their own electricity, pump their own water, transport foodstuffs further, etc.

It will be interesting to see.

I probably dont want to know the answer to this question but...where exactly are they building this hotel? Sounds like its going up just north of the military base?

As I said above, it is next door (north side) of La Ventana... by the navy base, correct.

Well this place looks carissimo so we shall see if $75 to $100 isn't even a low figure! Their photo on their web site shows some sort of sea creatures swimming around, turtles or dolphins, hopefully that is just hype. http://www.losvientosspaandresort.com/
