Truck and Dogs Stolen in Rosarito

I am posting this in hopes Nomads can help these people. I don't know anymore than is contained here (I just rec'd this this AM)

"Elizabeth Barnett <brattyangel99@yahoo.com> wrote:

My husband was down in Rosarito, Mexico on July 9th
and he left our 4 dogs in his truck. Well the truck
was stolen along with our dogs. I'm so desperate to
get my dogs back. They are four golden retrievers.
There are 2 males about 6 except the other male and
female are a little older. I will pay a cash reward- I
will do anything at this point. I don't care about my
truck. Just my dogs. I'm not sure if there are any
shelters or any places that they might have sold the
dogs but if you could give me help I would appreciate
it. Do you know what they might have done with the
dogs?? You can call me at (909)382-1177

Thank You,
Elizabeth"

Bajabound2005, my prayers are with the people that are missing their dogs. I will visualize them all soon reunited again.

The dogs are looking for them, too.
Tell them to trust in the Serendipity of Baja...

Could they maybe post a picture of the dogs and the truck? :light::light:

Best bet would be to post pictures and a reward in the area the truck was stolen ASAP.
The thieves may try to make some more $$ from them and probably still know where the dogs are.

We often leave our dogs in the truck but only in smaller towns in Baja Sur.
I would never let the truck/dogs out of my site in some cities of Norte.

I sent Elizabeth an e-mail and asked her to get on this forum with a description of the truck and details regarding the theft. I guess we will have to wait and see.......

Elizabeth---I feel badly for you....screw the truck, but dogs are like family. With all the loose dogs running around Baja, I can't imagine they will keep the dogs. They may be running loose in Rosarito. Offer a reward to the local police and I'll bet he dogs turn up. I hate to see bad things happen to good people.

The policia most likely have them in a pen waiting for you to post an award...Look behind the pen...Your truck is probably there too.:(

There is an animal sanctuary in Rosarito ---- I believe it is still there and run by Sunny Benedict--

I hope the link shows---posting from an Internet Cafe and it is different. If it does not show, it is called Rosarito Animal Sanctuary.

May not be of any help, but worth a try.

Really sad about the loss of the dogs---I know how we would feel.

Good Luck
Diane and John

OH NO!!!! How awful!

How ba**zy does someone have to be to rip off a truck with 4 large dogs in it?! My heart goes out to you, I hope you get then back (and your truck),

If caught, these guys deserve to have hamburger rubbed all over them and staked out in the desert for the feral packs to enjoy!!!! Messing with someone's truck is bad enough, but, to mess with family, they deserve whatever they get, and worse!!!!!

Good luck.

I don't see where Elizabeth has signed on the board.

Maybe some Rosarito Nomads could check the shelter for the Golden Retrievers

I took a moment and emailed her some of our suggestions.
Our 2 labs decided not to come for home for 2 day last week - it was not fun.

I checked. The shelter doesn't have the dogs. They were probably let loose. If so, they may still be roaming the streets. The owner eeds to make up a bunch of flyers...now.

Time is short.

Just got off the phone with Elizabeth....posted number is her cell.

Dogs and truck taken on Monday, 7-9-07, from the Commercial Mexicana shopping center toward the middle of Rosarito while her husband was paying bills. Husband is in Rosarito area posting flyers now. His name is Cruz.

Truck is a 2004-2005 Ford F-150, extended cab, maroon in color, California plates.

She will call me back with her husbands cell number.
Elizabeth said that she will attempt to contact her husband and tell him to log onto the baja nomad board ASAP so we can get some real-time updates

Stay tuned...............

That's the worst thing I could imagine. I have not been a fan of fear, refusing to live my life that way. But the thought of my dog, Paco being stolen, and the uncertainty of his well being is unthinkable. :(:fire:
