Baja 7-07 Part 4: San Roque, Abreojos & Campo Rene
We drive to Shari's place Wednesday morning. Shari tells us Roy (The Squarecircle) headed home earlier. Some good breakfast is made for us and then
she hops in the Tacoma to show us San Roque!
Here is the blowhole just below Shari & Juan's place...

I's a small world in Baja when a red pickup passes us on the road to La Roca, and stops.. backs up... It's Dern and Paulina ('P')!!!
They were checking out the Vizcaino Peninsula and we just happened to meet on the same road!
Dern, Elizabeth, Shari and Paulina...

San Roque is 7.8 easy miles from Bahia Asuncion... The road to San Roque turns off the main street in Asuncion by the police station (delegacion) on
Curvina street.
San Roque was abandoned when modern services arrived at Asuncion. The fisherman still launch their boats from there, however... The area is rumored to
be haunted... Ghosts from pirate days, Shari tells us!

Cool place to be buried huh! So um...as you can see...we have spoiled the beach by telling Nomads about it...packed as usual...can hardly find a spot
to put my umbrella! NOT! And the bloody traffic jams in san roque will drive ya nuts. Funny thing is, the day we went our kayak fishing buddies were
at our little beach cabin in san roque and another nomad was camped so yeah, it seemed packed! HA!

The next morning (Thursday 7-26-07) we were off to continue our Baja vacation...
Thanks mucho to Shari and Juan for their hospitality!
Between Asuncion and Punta Prieta was miles of beautiful beach with piles of polished clam shell pieces...

The road from Asuncion to Abreojos was mostly good driving... There were parallel graded roads in many places. We stayed closer to the beach using the
older route where possible. Here we near La Bocana...

La Bocana (52 miles and 2 hours from Asuncion) had a paved main street...
