Mercados

Three excellent markets in town are:

1. Mercado Horse - On Mar de Caribe just south of the traffic circle.

2. Mercado Sembrador - Southeast corner of Mar de Jonico and Calzada
Chetumal, halfway into downtown. Calzada Chetumal is the road which
heads downtown from the traffic circle.

3. Mercado Baja - North end of Downtown on Mar de Cortez (West side) just
Northwest of Bar Miramar.

A downloadable map of San Felipe is available at: www.sanfelipe.com.mx

San Felipe is so small that it is not a problem to find "downtown". More importantly, is to watch out for the ONE WAY STREETS (don't get a ticket), and finding a parking spot. The main stores are one block away from the malecon, and most of the parking is 2-3 blocks from there. Be sure the shrimp is FRESH. I would suggest buying shrimp at the marina which you'll find as you're driving out of town. If you find fruit stands around Mexicali, you may have a better choice and better quality there.
