Baja Country Club lookin nice!

The last email I sent in this forum was last Thanksgiving and I asked anyone interested if they wanted to play a round of golf during this holiday season and no one responded. Well, I am asking again. Anyone interested?

I played the other day and shot a 76 with a couple of ankle flips into the fairway but all in all it was one of my "better days".....

I am going for foot surgery on December 18th but am playing in two tournaments in Mexico City and will have a round I"m sure in Puerto Rico prior to that and I will be in Ensenada for the Thanksgiving weekend so u2u me and we'll play!

The Baja Country Club is really playing nice. The greens hold very well and they are improving the course all the time.

Many more custom homes are being built so those of you who are interested in a fairway property stop by and have a look see.......

Hope to hear from you soon!

Lips...

You would probably get a larger response if you said 176. I mean, what are you.... a touring professional?
Take Terry out there and show him how to hit a ball.

Dennis, Last time Terry was on a golf course he broke his ankle! Since he will be spending more time down here I plan on helping him with his swing and will provide a walker and if necessary hold his hand when he is walking back to the cart.

Doc, I love the back tees and will give you 3 a side! Lest play when you have a chance.....Im 53 now and play better than when I was 23. Just better course management I guess and no getting wasted while playing.

I remember years back when the whole place was neglected. Cows would be all over the course. In wet weather, they would walk around the greens putting in a six inch hole with every step. That's the way putting greens should be. Never miss a shot.

A Nomad tournament would be a lot of fun, especially if we can find a course where the ball goes through the windmill.

This is a funny story. I worked at the BCC prior to the first nine opening from 1989 to 1991 and was the sales manager. One of the initial investors was a gringo from Vegas who was a casino manager for many years at a very popular casino on the strip. He had alot of friends that smoked large cigars and were Itilian if you know what I mean.

The owners bought these large fish from New Zealand that ate the alge in the lakes at $25.00 a pop. One day "Dick" the investor asked me to go with him and check out the progress being made on the front nine and as we were driving in a golf cart close to the 8th hole some of the Mexican workers/laborers had set up a make shift bar-b-que and were eating what looked like burritos. Dick stopped the cart to check out the 8th green very close to where the workers were eating and the next thing I saw was Dick yelling at these guys at the top of his lungs, in English, something about these fuc$%? guys are fired. He kept on yelling and yelling at them and they just looked at him like what is this guy taliking about?

I looked over at where they were and saw two of these fish being bar-b-qued on the make shift grill. The fish looked really tasty. I think they had already had finished two of them. I grabbed Dick by the arm and took him back to the cart and returned to the clubhouse. I Think about this whenever Im on that hole and just laugh to myself. I can still see Dicks face which was as red as an apple and the Mexican workers with the looks on their face like, what the hell is he yelling about.

Close to this hole was a tree that had died and a Red Tip Falcon would pearch on top of it and occasionally fly down over the lake and scoop out a fish and eat it with one claw on top of this dead tree.

One day I saw the falcon there and took Dick in the cart to that area not telling him what was going on. I showed him the falcon sitting on top of that tree and he told me how beautiful these birds were and right after he said that the bird flew down and grabbed a fish and returned to the tree to eat it while Dick is having a fit. He almost stroked out from being so mad.

The next day when i arrived at the course I saw Dick in a cart with a shotgun waiting for that bird all day which never came back.

So...The water hazard was/is a fish pond. Are they the Talapia that DanO alluded to?

Lizard,
We almost always are down for Thanksgiving but not this year. whaaaa! When we're down Docsdad wold love to play golf every day. Can we send you an invite when we're coming down? (as a favor to me so I can sit on the beach quietly for at least one day while the husband has someone to play with?!?).
Your score of 76 is a bit intimidating. Only reply if you're happy playing with hackers.:lol:

I really think we should have a NOMAD tourney also. It would be great fun to get these guys together.

I wont be able to play until after February because of my surgery but lets try and have the very first "NOMAD INVITATIONAL" around Easter. That will give all of you hackers time to tune your game and the weather will be really nice!

I can get all of my friends that own hotels and other bisinesses to donate for the closest to the hole and long drive as well as winners of the tourney.

Who is interested?
