Baja online field guide

Hi everyone,

Have you ever seen an odd bird or strange insect when traveling in Baja California and wondered what is was?

Now, you can help build a searchable photographic data base of Baja California and Sea of Cortez animals, plants and insects by adding your photos to an online field guide. Our goal is to provide a readily available online field guide of this region – a field guide created and built upon by anyone who loves Baja California and the surrounding sea.

Whether an amateur photographer or naturalist, traveler or resident, adding your photos, videos, and observations to the online field guide will build upon a growing knowledge base of this fascinating region.

When adding your photos or video, please include common and scientific names in English and Spanish if possible, time of year, and location as well as your photo credit or link to your own website. You can also help with identification if you recognize species that have not yet been identified in the field guide by adding your own comments and observations.

To add your photos and comments please visit:

Thank you!

Thanks Skipjack!

That was in the dunes near Campo Beluga in Bahia Gonzaga - I was using my brother's 400mm lens, otherwise there was no way to get close! :bounce:
