Bajacat

I think that there are a lot of groups, people taking care of the needy here, also with the amount of work available in BCS if there are needy its because someone doesn't want to work.

We already have several organized toy drives in Loreto, and we also provide gifts to children in our immediate neighborhood. So I don't see a pressing need for another organized effort, nor do we really have the time and resources to become involved in one. But it is a nice thought, and maybe next year we can do more to acquaint interested regular BCS visitors to some of the local charitable efforts, should they care to participate.

Good thoughts, BAJACAT..but like comitan and Don Alley said, here in Mulege we have many toy drives, charities, and other help groups that were started many years ago. It think it was nice of you to bring it up, though. Hey..we can always find time to get another toy to the kids.

Well B Cat, Baja has a huge amount of peoples trying to live in the Cabo area, came from the mainland. Not enuf work available and the roberies, and home invasions are scarey to say the least! From what I have read in this post, no one seems to feel there is a need for this kind of help you are concerned about. From what I saw during my 3 week stay last month, they could certainly benefit from your idea of helping the children. But I am talking about Cabo and the huge amount of barrios and drugs and all that goes with it.That would be a gigantic undertaking to arrange an event such as that. There is a group ther that may jump to that idea tho, it is the Cabo Tomatoes. Bunch of wimmen, all ages and living there, have bizness or other.Just a thought, maybe they already do it.Want some more info, U2U me. Good on ya man, for caring about the youths!:)

Hey Cat! you guys did an awesome job and I read about it all. There are many kids all over BC north and south that would benefit from the love and time/energy,bucks you guys put into that event.Whats to stop you , and others, me included, from doing the same in BCS? Just saying that it is a huge undertaking and you may need a bit of help from people that live in the areas you may be considering. That was the purpose of my post, not to discourage you, my good man!So all that said, I would like to help, and let me/us know about your thoughts and where you think the best place to do the next drive will be.
