The drive/rafting to El Rosario
Yesterday seven of us made the drive from Bahia Santa Maria to El Rosario. It rained heavily all day and some of the vados had up to two and a half
feet of water. All of the towns along the way were muddy messes. We were in three 4WD trucks so we made it through but the deeper water vados were
parking lots full of low profile cars. In the towns with arroyos most of the inhabitants were on the river banks watching the incredibly heavy flows.
We checked into 4 rooms here at Baja Cactus and Antonio asked me to pass on his best wishs to all and yes David he promises to call when he can. He
was sick for most of December and has been extremely busy trying to comply with the new Pemex requirements.
We surprised ourselves last night By giving Mama's one more chance. The servce was prompt, the food was prepared in a reasonable time and the lobster
burritos were as good as ever. The margaritas were incredible.
Today we head for the Yurts at San Ignacio. We saw stars last night so hopefully some sun today.
San Jose del Cabo or bust.

Be sure to call before you head for your Yurt... with one day notice, and sometimes they do not need that much notice, you can join the family for
dinner.... which is outstanding... in any case breakfast is included with your Yurt. Great place , can't recommend it too much.

You will love San Ignacio springs and the yurts. Best grub and nights sleep we have had just about anywhere.
We have been such good friends with Ricardo at Rice and Beans over the years that it is hard to have another favorite in SI. Ricardo still has the
best Margys anywhere on the planet IMHO and I generally don't drink hard alcohol. It's his fresh Mexican limes from his orchard and no pre-made mix
that's the difference.

Where is Bahia Santa Maria? Also wondering which towns were hit hard and how that area of Baja looks now after a good wet season!

for the comments. I am writing this from the kitchen at San Ignacio Springs and the aromas are incredible. Terry served us a wonderful turkey dinner
last night with all the trimmings. One of the yurts we have has a hot tub and we sipped tequila under the stars last night. If this isn't heaven it is
close. Today we travel to Mulege and Bay of Conception.

After spending the night in Mulege, we are loading up for todays trip to La Paz. The desert is incredibly green after all the rain.

Hey Chuck, after 5 days here in San Jose del Cabo we head back for BSM manana. The golf tourney was a riot and is going on at this moment. We will
stay at Serinadad tomorrow night and at Baja Cactus on Wednesday night. Back to the beach on Thursday. Have a safe trip down.

Yes David, I spoke to him the other night as he had called me. He said he would swing by on his pre-run next week, but won't be able to make the Nomad
Matomi Run. Sounds like a really nice guy, we had a good chat.

Great... I just came from his house and I think he will ride along with you guys on his m/c as you will be going in in Azufre Wash and out in Matomi
wash*... both are probably going to be the 250 route. His Score Lite (Class 12) racer looks ready to take on the San Felipe 250!
His Baja Nomad handle is 'Steekers' (like what all the kids yell when a racer or pit crew drive into town)!
*If someone with a pickup will carry a gas can for him as the m/c may not get over 100 miles... and you might be just over that on this run.
