Another question regarding photos. When using paint, how do you post more than one photo? Thanks to all.

After many attempts to post photos here, I finally read through DavidK's instructions on using paint, and wrote them all down until I got the hang of it.

I'm not aware of posting more than one photo at a time. Start with the easy stuff.

Let's see what we can do...

I just went to my photobucket album, and picked one of my photos in my album.

Below the photo are four choices with attachment codes:

Email & IM

Direct Link

HTML Code

IMG Code

For posting on Nomad use the 'Direct Link' by clicking on it and then using your mouse to copy that url. (the direct link for the photo I chose is http://i213.photobucket.com/albums/cc212/DavidKier/3-5.jpg )

Come to the Nomad page you want to put your photo on and click on the image icon:

With your mouse, paste the url (direct link code) into the pop up box on Nomad.

Here is my photobucket image (Parral Canyon):

'Paint' is for reducing the image 'size' to below 50 kb for Nomad posting.

This is only necessary whith photos that are stored on your computer ('My Pictures', etc.), as they need to be saved on Nomad to show on the Internet. You use 'Browse' (the button below where you type a message here on a New Topic or Post Reply window and not 'Quick Reply' box below an existing message) to pop up your PC's files and pick ONE photo already reduced below 50 KB.

IF your photos are already on the Internet (another web page or photobucket, etc.) then you can post as many as you want using the image icon. IF the image is too big it will distort the Nomad page beyond the typical monitor requiring scrolling to the right to read any text or see all of the photo. In that case, please reduce the image. In photobucket, click on the edit button and then resize icon and pick 'message board' for a reduced image size.

If you click and copy the one that says IMG Code, you can paste that directly into your post --- same place where you type.

It is faster---just click the IMG Code at Photobucket which automatically copies it, switch back to your nomad post -- hit Ctrl V on your computer and bingo.

Resizing photos on photobucket can be slow at times. An easy way to resize photos before putting them on photobucket is with the Window's Power Tool---Image resizer. If you are using XP the power tool is free to download.

It is easy to use---you just right click the photo, choose the size you want and it creates a reduced copy of your photo---

If you use "custom" for sizing, you can put in 600 wide and the height with adjust accordingly.

Just another way to do it---oh, if I know I want to post several at one time, I will copy the ones I want to post into a separate folder and then resize them all at once. When I do that, I also change the resizer to resize the original and not make more copies. That way you can upload the entire folder to photobucket which seems to be faster these days.

Good luck

Who is Jack? Maybe I need to meet him.:lol:

Oh, one more simple trick if you want to write a longer trip report with pictures inbetween. You can type up your report in Word with the IMG codes pasted to the word document.

Then just copy the entire word document and paste it into your post---works like a charm.

Sorry... I guess the song about Jack and Diane was in my head... tell your husband sorry... Since the two of you use the same registered name, I didn't know who to thank... J is for your hubby, right?

Good point about using word.
