I was involved in a shooting yesterday in Rosarito - Pictures

The shooters......

It was a gorgeous day as the Club de Tiro, Caza & Pesca De Rosarito met for one of their many competitive shoots at the gun range about 5 miles east of town.

When my parents joined the club about 23 years ago, they were the only gringos of the 13 members. There are now over 50 members...but only one other American couple.

I'd never shot pistols before. 25 years ago I shot trap a few times and also got a couple of deer when I lived in Wyoming.

So, here I am...the study of concentration...

I got one!

I understand that the club has a friendly rivalry with the Tijuana Police department, and their competitions are quite lively.
:lol::lol:

It was very much a family affair (isn't everything down there?) Women were shooting as well... The little kids were charged with picking up the shells, and dads were teaching gun safety to their older kids.....

It was a fun day.....

No...that would be my mother. They like to cause a stir at the Army stops.

Soldier: Tiene Ud. armas?
Mom..smiling sweetly "Si"
Soldier: "No...Armas...Guns....Jou hab guns?"

Mom: "Si...Tenemos dos pistolas" :o :o

That's probably the most excitment the soldiers get all day.

They have never have any trouble after showing their paperwork .

Getting "involved" is good.

Good eye! Those where at a right angle to where I was shooting up "Target Gulch"

Mom thinks a fun day would be to go up there during the week...Just her & I....have the place to ourselves, pack a lunch with a bottle of wine, shoot up the place and "widen that canyon a little" :o

Oh boy....

Jeans: I figure I'm pretty safe but I bet there's few guys out there who (not to steal Bajaguy's tag line) don't quite sleep as soundly after seeing that photo.

That T-shirt with the woman helicopter fishing over the tuna pens at Salsipuedes is hysterical!

Thanks!

Jeans, looks like you had some fun as well as your Mom it sounds like. Use to shoot in competition with Mexicali and some Federal officers that join in the local law enforcement shooting competition. Some officers from this side also took their weapons into Mexico to shoot back in early 80's but I never took mine down there. Mexicali Judical police have their own choir clubhouse outside of Mexicali and outside agencies are only taken there when food, beer, and singing is done. Can't remember if they ever allowed any women to go out there with any guns though. I have taken my shotgun down there to hunt but had the proper paper work and money for permits were paid. The gun club thing I have seen a few Americans that have them but very few and they are issued by the Military general if memory serves me correct. I have a colt 45 caliber that is clicked in to where you just point and shoot then collect your high score. Have had it for over 20 years and never jammed along with always making sure me and others get back home safe at the end of the day. Bernie, I also go the T-shirt and would really like to hook into a fish that made me feel like I needed that helicopter to bring it in. I will wear it when I go down south to a few cantinas I know and will definately have people ask me about it. I really like the T-shirt Bernie and know you had fun putting it together. jeans, I have always liked you best. And forget that Paulina creature and that old lady you got into a hair pulling contest with. YOU are Number One. Trust me.

So, you are not going to shoot me, right????
