Tequila Tasting at the Booksigning

I see the tequila tasting has been mentioned several places, so I thought I'd put the details out there for everyone.

It's very simple. We'll have it Saturday night at the Pyramid Resort. The exact room and time will likely be announced by Keri during the booksigning. To participate, all that is asked is that you bring a bottle of tequila.

Last year we had a full range of tequilas. One was a homemade version, another was a tequila liquor, and yet another was a high quality Jose Cuervo. Be creative, bring something interesting or surprise everyone by comparing a well known brand against not-so-well-known brands.

The bottles need to be entrusted to myself, GeoRock/Suzanne (just look for real long blond hair).

It is best to hide them in a paper sack, as the identity needs to be kept secret. And don't share with others what you have brought!

Sipping size samples, for a blind tasting, will be poured of each tequila for each person. A few folks will ask for a second sample of a few of the tequilas. Limes and salt will be provided for those that need it, but be aware that dilutes the taste of a good tequila.

There are no guarantees, but last year everyone was given back their bottles with some left in them.

A verbal vote is taken and a winning tequila is announced along with the tequila identities.

Simple and fun. Hope to see you there!

Almost There

Good eve Georock. Tracey and I are trying hard to make the trek down for the fun. We will know by mid dayish on Thursday. Will it be obvious on how to hook up with the tequila tasters? Sounds like lots of fun. What do you know about the pot luck?

Hey Tim & Tracey,
I sure hope you can make it to the big bash. I'll be leaving town mid-day tomorrow, heading for the border. Will cross Friday morning. I believe it will be very obvious on how to hook up with the tequila tasters. Last year Keri graciously provided a condo as a common area for everyone to hang out. The wine tasting was held inside this condo during the day. So you should have no problem knowing where to go that evening for the tasting.

As far as the potluck, Keri is the organizer. Last year it was also held in the same hospitality condo. There was quite a spread, and Keri had a delicious cake for dessert. Main dishes are usually hard to come by, so if you have one to contribute I'm sure it will be appreciated. Of course, you can contact Keri through a U to U on this board for more detail or suggestions.

I look forward to seeing you both!
Suzanne
