Baja Angel and I are heading north (it's weird not to go to Baja on vacation)!
With no El Rosario festival this weekend, we will use our vacation week to see more of the USA... 
So, have a great week everyone... as I know we will!

That's right here in Oregon. They are replacing or repairing(finally) most the bridges along Hwy 1. Keep enjoying the fine weather Pompano, you know
how July can be here......foggy on the coast!

A trip hint for you, DK...
Buy lots of these objects below. You may know that the 'experts' are calling them the new 'Nature's Viagra.' The rinds are best for this objective..or so I am told.
p.s. Corky, the new improvements along the Coastal Highway are great. I've been making this our 'Baja Nomad' route between Coyote and Up North for a
few decades and it couldn't be nicer. A truly world-class coast drive...almost as nice as Baja! Looking forward to your menu after leaving
Winchester Bay.

We too are in Newport. The temps here are just a little more than half that of the Bahia. The seafood here is great and I cooked up two 2 pound crabs
last night. Will you make it this far north?

HOLA AMIGOS!!
Hi everyone,
We are back from a great trip NORTH!
Yes, it is quite unusual for us to go north when Baja is to the south of us... However, variety is the spice of life, afterall!
Because it wasn't a 'Baja trip', I will make this report brief with a few photos in this thread... being about 'Baja Nomads'.
Baja Angel (Elizabeth) and I first went to Las Vegas on Friday... and yes, we did get married!!! (she's awesome)
Next, on Saturday (19th) we did the Star Trek Experience at the Hilton (which ends after 10 years running, this September)... and brought home some
Romulan Ale! That was great fun, and quite interesting.
Sunday we drove north to Idaho and visted with Elizabeth's sister and stayed in the Honeymoon suite at the hotel...
Tuesday, we drove into Yellowstone Park and saw buffalo and geysers, and lot's of beautiful scenery... Stayed at the Snowly Lodge by Old Faithfull
Geyser... watched an eruptuion that afternoon and another the next morning from a different location as we walked around the geyser basin.
Yellowstone is a beautiful place with a lot of things to see and enjoy... We drove on to the Lower Falls for some photos then south, out to Jackson,
Wyoming... which was packed with tourists... and no place to stay.
Summer days being long, we still had plenty of daylight Wednesday and drove south to Alpine, WY and stayed at a tiny place called the Nordic Inn with
cute little cabins, a bar, and restaurant 'Brentoven's' run by recorded classical pianist, Brent Johnston... who cooked our dinner and breakfast...
great meals, both).
Thursday, we used the suggestions of the motel owner (Michael) and headed south through beautiful valleys, went up to Huntsville, Utah and visited a
Monestary where Catholic Monks make honey and other crafts, and sell books on their religion vs. the Mormons... all very interesting.
More beautiful country as we dropped out of the Rockies and into Ogden, Utah and south of Salt Lake City to Sandy, Utah where we enjoyed a great
dinner/ show at the Maya Adventure... Our hotel room had a jacuzzi tub in the room, which was fun!
Friday we drove back to Las Vegas, got a room at the Hilton, rode the monorail to various stops, saw the water show at the Bellagio... played some
machines... Elizabeth won back the money I lost!!! (See, she's a keeper)
Saturday (yesterday), back home to Oceanside... We used Elizabeth's '08 Toyota Corolla and got up to 39.8 MPG (avg. about 35) during this 2,200 mile
trip.

Beer Review
Just a final note on our trip... we got some of this, from across the neutral zone:
Sadly, the Star Trek Experience at the Las Vegas Hilton ends after 11 years on Sept. 1.
I don't know if Romulan Ale will be available after that?
It is brewed in Guatemala by Cerveceria Centro Americana, and inside the gold neck label is the name of another Guatemala brew, 'Dorada'.
On the Internet, it mentions the beer was made in El Salvador by another brewery, and got poor reviews. This brew tastes like Bud Lite... only blue!
