Noone? Okay, I'll start it off. For me, it would have to have been Mike Hynson, Phil Edwards, Skip Frye, of course, Dora, Lance Carson, the old time
WindanSea group......

My two favorite surfers are my mother and father. I caught my first wave in 1963 on a 9'6" inch Hobie when my mom pushed me into a 'set' wave at
Doheny. 
I surfed with my father until he was about 60 and he hung it up.
I still have in my possesion that Hobie board and a 11'6" 4 1/2 inch thick board my father shaped for himself in Loren's barn in San Juan Cap in
1954-55.

Nope. By the time I was a local at Windansea, there were
mostly only Mac Meda remnants.

Matt, Jennie(Harrison) and I surfed Doheny after school in Capo and then we went to the old house, and we rode the horse, and the cow thru the avocado
groves to the "wash" all up and down to the beach and back.BTW, the cow was sweet but not too much fun.We still have close connections with the
family!Loren was so smooth on the waves!(SR)

How about the redman, Dewey Weber. I had beers w/him and a few of his buddies at County line in the early 80's in his camper truck. Remember the 'Net
and chilly ones and clam chowder after a surf? He looked pretty rough but he could kill it. Ended up killing him. Saw him at Leo's as well.

Loren Harrison and family
He was one of a kind. I remember many times as a grom riding along on a wave at Doheny and he would come beside you and before you new it he would
pick you up and set you on his board and finish riding the wave all the way to the sand.
He visited our casa in Baja several times over the years and was there shortly before he passed, ALWAYS with palm frond hat and ukelele.
The adobe house they lived in in San Juan was always a treat to visit as a kid. The walls were 4 feet thick and the huge barn out back was spooky
after dark.
I still get goose bumps when I paddle out at Doheny on a nice south swell thinking about my youth and my dearly departed mom and all the great times
spent on that stretch of coast.
Good memories for sure.

Yeah Matt, I used to get goosebumps every time I went into the house. I swear it is/was haunted!And those good ol days at Doho! I surfed at Neepies on
the other side of Boneyard as it was a left and yes, Goofy Foot and goofy also! Remember the "Hot Spot?"in front of the bathrooms where we all sat and
warmed up after a surf?I met my ex-hubby there,he was hanging with Mike Hynson,and I was married to him for 18yrs.He liked waves as big as he could
find em.I'll never forget watching him paddle out at Wiamea during a close-out set!And man could he surf Sunset!Good memories.

Wow, great memories indeed. I remember surfing doho in junier high school. Billy's mom brought us down from our home in Redondo. They were placing
giant rocks on the new jetty with a crain as we surfed our hearts out. We wore topsiders because we were not used to surfing over a rocky bottom!
Favorite surfers: Leroy Grannis and Doug Tico. Two Tamarack regulars, gentilemen both and an inspiration to us middle agers. Granny doesn't get in the
water much anymore, but he will still shoot photos from the beach and sell the slides to his pals for a dollar. I've got some nice ones on my wall.
Me...Photo Grannis! What a treasure.
No b-tchin\' in the Baja.
