First Baja Nomad Toy Drive

Ok everyone, this all started as an idea and you can read all about it in past posts but with all honesty, what made us strong was the vast, initial donation from Team Cabo Magic. We started out with 72 children and yes, they provided 72 + gifts, from toys to watches to jackets to beed necklasses, clothing and M&M candy and even some Cabo Magic t-shirts. That made it posible for us to be able to include the special needs children for a total of 122 kids. Here some of the boxeds full of Cabo Magic gifts for the kids. Tomy's mom and dad drove from the Palm Desert area to Chula Vista to deliver a truck load of gifts. Nuevamente gracias.

There were also other major contributors like Oso that provided us with dozens of Mickey's and Minnie's for the children.

And the bicicle stories, well those you can read about on your own.

On the other hand, do not worry, I am sure there will be lots of good sales going on between now and the toy drive----just not today---just too crazy for me.:lol:

If you do venture out on this crazy day, do report back.

Second Baja Nomad Toy Drive

This event was great, we had the opportunity to take gifts to children down south of Ensenada, Esteban Cantu area going to Punta Banda and the major support we received was from the Ensenada Nomads, specialy Bajabound 2005 and Bajamigo who helped us set it all up with the comunity down there and went out of theire way paying for the entire meal for everyone that attended the giveaway of toys at the India Bonita restaurant, Dennis, Sylens and many other Ensenada area Nomads helped a lot down there.

Again Thank You!

Mark was the major bicycle donor

Fernando:
In regards to the toy drive, would you like the gifts wrapped or unwrapped.
Also, would you like the age group and gender of the gift?

Thanks Udo, we would prefer them unwraped and if you can send us some gift wrap separate, that way Simone (she is in charge of sorting and wrapping) knows what toy goes for what child and so on.
As you can see we have over 120 chidren so the more gifts we can get the better.

Thanks everyone for all of your signs of support and willingness to help make this toy drive possible. In the past many have dropped off toys at the designated locations ad some have mailed them in also. We need a lot of help, there are over 120 children for this year plus the ones that show up on the day of the event that we didn't count on so I urge you to be generous. The economy as it is right now is not helping much but I know that somehow we'll do it.

Fernando y familia

We have spammed all of our email address book for NorCal and hope to get some big boxes packed up and sent your way....
Hopefully one of these years when our kids get a little older we can all pile in the car and make it down with you guys.
Our kids could learn alot from a trip like this....all of us could learn a little.
Keep up the good work, some people think some problems are too big to even try to tackle. It is people like you (and all of us together) that can make a difference!

Thanks to all of you with the donations that make this possible.
The more toys, the better, we have over 120 kids this year and they will all receive gifts from Baja Nomads.

Fdt, the Calexico motorcycle group I ride with to local events did the same thing you are doing for the Mexicali kids and this club raised enough for all the kids down there for X-Mas day. I will ask them if they would like to do it one more time to help you out. These guys are always doing something even in the other clubs they belong to just like some of us do to help the kids out. I will have my son that lives in San Diego drop somet hings off at the Tax Place you named on this site. I know that soccer balls are always a big smile maker as well as baseball gloves with balls and a bat. For the girls I have always sent dolls especially "Barbie." If there are other gifts that go over big let me know and I will pass it on. The other "what if question" is if the group wanted to ride down what would be the meet up time at the T.J. border crossing or U.S.A. side and group crossing be??? Not sure if they are willing to cross at this time or not but will ask, a lot of professinal guys and their wives ride together so safety to them always a must. Take care and I will get back to you on this. Later----bajafun777

Thanks Bajafun, at this time I'm planning the itinerary for that day. The toy give away will probably be at about 1PM, I need to make sure with the people in charge of the kids. So with this in mind we will probably meet on the US side at about 9-9:30AM and come into México together on a bus, visit a couple of the city atractions and be at the give away location by 1 were we will also have tamales and rosca de reyes. Depending on the number of people that we have comming that day, will determine the transportation from the US and back to the US. Regardless, I will be getting a police escort so if the motorcycle club wants to come I would need to know how many bikes will be attending to have enough escort coverage.
