La Paz Storage
I'm doing a small boat trip from San Lucas Cove and want to store my truck and boat trailer in La Paz so it is there when I arrive. Does anyone know a
secure storage place? How safe is it at the marina?
tnx in advance

La Paz Mini Storage does vehicle storage. $30/month for short term car or trick, a little less for extended time. He has a high wall, locked
compound. He will pick up and deliver customers to the airport, will probably do the same to the marina, maybe a little tip to help.
Someone will probably post his phone number, but the email is-
Jim Bouleau storagemx@yahoo.com for inquiries.

I also highly recommend Jim and Gloria at the storage yard. Very nice people and very secure. When I was centered out of La Paz I used them for
years.

It's the ole "you can't miss it". On the same road that the airport is on, the same side of the street, on the way to the main road to La Paz, you
can't miss it. Realy, you can't miss it with the large walls. If you get to the main road to La Paz,, you have gone to far.

You forgot to mention one feature of this place: it floods during hurricanes. My RV was flooded up to the floorboards last year. And they were really
unresponsive to emails, which made the whole process of finding out how bad the damage was a real joy.
My advice to anyone using this place is to find out what measures they've taken to make sure this doesn't happen again.

I understood that it was a dam that let loose (read - very unusual occurance). I'm sure Jim and Gloria were a little too busy trying to protect what
they could for their customers but I believe they brought in people to man their phones. I'm quite sure Longlegs can give more accurate answers as she
and Baja Bruno were right there assisting in anyway they could for several days. My boat was stored there at the time and thanks to longlegsinlapaz
and Baja Bruno ( both great Nomads) within 4 hours of the flood they provided detailed condition reports with photos and even personally checked on
my boat and assured me all was well. I still highly recommend Jim and Glorias for storage in La Paz

I just sent some $$ for a few more months-
I guess the rates went up in September to $40/month for short term.

Well,Jim and Gloria may be nice, but the business was most unresponsive when the flooding tookplace. I had most of my household goods in their place.
It flooded all the place up to 3 feet high with mud, ruining everything. The staff it appears, was "real busy" securing their legal protection BEFORE
they contacted their customers. I got my call 6 days after the flood. Their response when asked why so later was "We had to many calls to
make"......bs.
I lost furniture, clothing, many pictures of my children -can't replace those-
It was incredible. We were there for days in the stinky mud, sorting through stuff trying to rescue something. A lady next door had it worse. We saw
her quietly work from early hours through the day doing the same we were doing. Never spoke to us or anybody. We could hear her cry just sa my wife
cried after every discovery of loss.
What did they did for us?...... nothing. Absolutely nothing. The owner simply said: "I am most concerned with rescuing the business and surviving. I
had insurance for the business, not for the customers. You should have bought your own"
That is what happened. Good luck to anybody storing anything there.

Well LOSARIPES it looks you are still MAD !!!!!!
This was a very bad deal for every one, Jim & Gloria were not there at all !!!!
There was no DAM at all, this was a ARROYO up in the hills that had filled in early in the season , I saw the place , after the rain stopped three
days later the arroyo was full to the top, when it let go the water went down the wrong way & flooded the airport & every thing down the line
including our place toooo !!!!!
You need to put this behind you & get on with your life !!!!!
Jim & Gloria are the best in the world ~~ They have had a hard time trying to get all this mess cleaned up .....You need to stop picking on them
!!!!!!
There is a new super wall now & I know for sure that this will never fall down agan !!!!!! The water was 8' high when it pushed the wall over
!!!
HERE IS THE PHONE # FOR THEM 612-124-6504
We will be there next week to work on our house , which is next door !!!!!
If you want to bich come & see me !!!!

Ok Norm. Like in everything else.... put it all behind. Done.
But... why didn't they (Jim, Gloria or Juana Banana) call us all first thing? were they busy chasing their file cabinet with all the phone numbers
down the ARROYO?........ and it took them a week?...... it would have made a huge difference.... I am not "biching" as you put it and much less with
you unless you are responsible for their negligence... are you?.....

Norm-
You say "You need to put this behind you & get on with your life !!!!!" For some reason I found that advice hard to take when my van broke down a
few weeks ago in an arroyo in La Ventana because the water that crept into my transmission during that flood boiled over. And something tells me the
woman mentioned by Losaripes also finds it hard to take your advice.
And hopefully I'm reading this line wrong. Is this a threat?
"If you want to bich come & see me !!!!"
And for the record, I agree, Jim and Gloria are in person very very nice people. But I had a *horrible* experience doing business with them. I don't
fault them for the flood, these things happen, but they wouldn't return my phone calls or emails for a good month, and even then it was super tough
getting any details out of them. I seriously thought I had lost my RV, that all the people who said "if you store your camper in Baja, you're going to
lose it" were right.
Sorry if I come off a little harsh, but my feathers are still a bit ruffled.
