Mood: Wondering what our Nit-Wit elected officials are doing now?

Well, we just got back from what was our 2nd annual New Year's visit to Bahia Asuncion. We've decided to make it a tradition. This year we stayed at Campo Serenita. The view was FABULOUS! We liked being able to position our RV to suit ourselves. We had access to water and electricity. There is dump site, too. The "clubhouse" has a bathroom, shower and washing machine, a library, and WI-FI. I'm very sensitive to noise but was not bothered at all - not even with New Year's celebrations. It is a work-in-progress but we have no complaints. Shari and Juan are the best! There was so much shared fish, crab and shrimp and other delicious food it was astounding! We can't wait to return! Hey, the road was better, too.

Art, we enjoyed spending New Years with you again. Sorry we missed you before you left. I think your report sums up the campground well. I think the campground will be a central focus point for Nomads for years to come. If nothing else, the commradarie is priceless.

See you next year if not sooner.

Awful Art REALLY lives up to his name! ya gotta meet him to grasp this....definately entertaining. Alice and rintintin are divine...and they even adopted an asuncion streetdog ...Kevin Jr.

It wouldn't be New Years without this wonderful couple. Gotta love a guy who brings yard games and bags of clothes for the whole village.

we had way too much fun the past few weeks at campo Sirena...most excellent campfire conversation, comradery, singing, dancing, fabulous food, belly laughs, hugs and LOVE!

I STRONGLY second that, Russ. Keep up the good work, Shari-----------I am sure that many of us love your posts, and I think that is what this NOMADS board is all about.

Last nights moon rising party was a howling good time, will post pictures when I get them downloaded.

In the mean time this is what we have to wake up to every morning.

Time for multi-colored flags running the length of the road in from Viscaino.

Hey Jim, good idea! Might just save the place from becoming the next Victoria BC releat with flowers.:bounce::P

Too funny! Has David actually passed up a political post in this forum?

Shari does a good job of promoting, I agree, but it seems to me that most of the "promotions" are coming from people who have been there and are sharing their experiences. Keep in mind that coming from the States to Asuncion is a bit of a way and along the way we travellers are dropping dollars all through the Norte, so she is actually promoting Baja. I kinda promote Mulege myself, even though I don't own anything there...but the day's not over, hee hee

Shame on you Shari!!!

PROMOTING that place and taking advantage of all those poor souls who find their way down. God knows that this forum is FILLED with stories of Nomads who have felt ABUSED by the ILL TREATMENT they have received there.

Proof of that is all the obviously masochistic types who keep on going back for more...

Oh ya!

She sucks you in, your helpless. You drive all the way down there, she put you up in comfortable accomidations, provides fishing, pours you a Pina Colada, and tells you all the secret spots.

Hell, we're still talking about our trip and that was 16 months ago!
