Just played course yesterday and enjoyed many new improvements. Lots of workers trimming trees, adding to irrigation and fertilizing greens. Dozens of new palm trees have been planted in tee areas. Photo from BCC website shows the canyon view out toward Punta Banda where several of your fellow NOMADS live.

For single digit handicap golfers, Baja Country Club plays 6,850 yds from back tees. So bring your serious artillery.

For casual golfers, the course is greening up and is a beautiful setting in the canyon of palm tree-lined fairways. During G4N tourney, men will play the white tees and women will play reds which soften the course challenge considerably. 4 females played last year, including one on the winning team.

For non-golfers, Golf4Ninos just signed up the great Ensenada Amaretto Blues Band for your dancing pleasure at
the afternoon FIESTA following golf on June 13. The party will be in our private oasis, which is the triangle of trees shown in the photo, lower right, adjacent to course.

Our gourmet taco spread, low-priced beverages, premium prize auction and raffle will make for another fun party.

Thanks to Lizard Lips, we have once again secured this private oasis(photo above from morning of last year's event) on the northeast end of Baja Country Club for our FIESTA.

Beachbum1A has contracted the fabulous El Campeon taco caterers for our delicious food spread.

And we just reserved the allyoucandance music of the fun Amaretto Blues Band for the afternoon until ?.

The fiesta begins in the afternoon following golf. We were just short of 200 attending last year's Fiesta. C'mon out and join the food, beverages, music, auction, raffle and more.

Oh, yes, if you golf, bring your foursome to challenge last year's winners. Nice discount for team of 4 and we still have some spots left for you.

Here are some of the kids of Agua Viva, our charity. One of our volunteers asked for a photo with dirtier clothes and fewer happy faces to pump up sympathy.

We'll stick with reality. Many of the families do have a change of clothes, but, entire wardrobes are what you might pack for a 3 day weekend.

5 WEEKS LEFT, WHAT WE NEED:
1. Golfers welcome with nice discount for team of 4 at Baja Country Club this June 13, a Saturday. 8AM start to golf day with tee-off at 9.
2. Fiesta is shaping up nicely with our gourmet taco caterer, beverages and live band to boogy your booty. Fiesta gets started at NOON.
3. Donations/Sponsors via Paypal button on website. Also taking any gifts that might fill a "goody bag" for golfers and the local sponsors who will be present displaying their products/services.
4. ANY gift ideas work. I will most likely be in San Diego this coming week picking up a few items. If anyone has anything for our AUCTION or RAFFLE or anything for the kids, please holler my way.
5. 757 Emory St. #222 Imperial Beach 91932 is my U.S. address that accepts UPS/Fedex.

http://Golf4Ninos.wordpress.com
for details, registration, paypal/credit card donation, updates.

Hope to see some Nomads make the weekend. Good news is that it is quiet here and any shop, restaurant or other will be happy to see you. There will be other parties that weekend as accessories to the main event on the afternoon of June 13.

ALL nomads welcome at my place for a Pacifico or Vino any day ending in Y.

Family at local village at Agua Viva, took this one from 100m away, as I prefer not to intrude.

Lunch time begins at Agua Vivia 21 May 2009

Agua Vivia Guarderia is the beneficiary of our Golf Tournament and Fiesta on June 13. 3 weeks left and you can make a big difference in these kids' lives.

Basics like food, shelter and clothing help these children and their families. The shelter is funded completely by donations.

Forwarded a few hundred bucks of our 120 tickets sold for the Fiesta to John and Arlene, the couple that run the shelter, Thursday. They were thrilled, as they could now buy toilet paper.

Our visit this week learned that they are running a huge deficit due to economic conditions. 90% of their donations come from U.S. and economy has stressed all of their loyal donors. At this point, your spare change will help.

Donor button on our website accepts credit cards. Thanks for any support.

12 days until G4N. 40 golfers, 176 Fiesta tickets sold, so we'll expect more than 200. Several 2 night stays at local B&B's/ocean homes, several restaurant gift certificates, 4 ticket packages to Starlight Theater/Balboa Park and lots more for the auction and the raffle. Please join us for the fun on June 13th. Could use a few more golfers, too.
