Great photos as always Roger!
The old road along Bahia Concepcion in those photos was built in the 1900's for automobiles. Some say the prisoners at the former Mulege prison were
the labor force. Have you heard that one?
My co-author Max Kurillo is the leading authority on the California El Camino Real bells and wrote books about them and Mrs. Forbes who made them. His
home is filled with a huge collection of bells linked to the Camino Real.
The Alta California El Camino Real and Highway 101 are closely aligned.
The Baja California El Camino Real and Highway 1 are close from Tijuana to north of Cataviña, and again from La Paz to San Jose del Cabo. The rest of
the mission road is high in the mountains connection the missions and water holes found up there between Loreto and Santa Maria (east of Cataviña)

This is from the Tropicana Hotel in San Jose del Cabo. When I told this smiling hotel maid that she could easily be a model for this painting, she
gladly posed next to it for me. The camera definitely likes her!

They went that-a-way! ... to ...."Pepper's."
This was a photo-stunt mi flying amigo, Dusty, wanted to do for his new business promotion back home. A popular dinner lounge called Peppers. We had
fun doing the promo on my sea wall, but the bikini bottoms with Peppers marker-penned on the tinfoil were kinda hinky and the logos did not show too
well. Was a lot of fun trying, though. Back to the drawing board, amigo!

(I love these sights at sea..especially sailboats. Of course that makes me biased, and I'll just have to live with it.)

I, too met John Wayne in 1967 at the old Hacienda Hotel in Cabo
when I was a sophomore in HS,
The Wild Goose was parked in the bay...
Met him on the veranda in front of the bar at the Hacienda.
He signed my photo of the Marlin I had caught the day before...
Real nice guy

Indeed, Roger's home was a great beach villa in Baja! Built decades ago just inches above sea level... and it is still inches above sea level!
