LOCATED NEAR LATITUDE 27.8 NORTH...LONGITUDE 112.4 WEST OR ABOUT 35
MILES...55 KM...NORTH-NORTHWEST OF SANTA ROSALIA MEXICO.
JIMENA IS MOVING TOWARD THE NORTH NEAR 6 MPH...10 KM/HR. A TURN
TOWARD THE NORTHWEST THEN WEST WITH A DECREASE IN FORWARD SPEED IS
EXPECTED LATER TODAY...FOLLOWED BY A TURN TOWARD THE SOUTHWEST ON
FRIDAY. ON THE FORECAST TRACK...THE CENTER OF JIMENA WILL BE NEAR
THE EAST COAST OF THE CENTRAL BAJA CALIFORNIA PENINSULA TODAY...
THEN MOVE INLAND OVER BAJA CALIFORNIA BY TONIGHT.
MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS HAVE DECREASED TO NEAR 50 MPH...85
KM/HR...WITH HIGHER GUSTS. ADDITIONAL WEAKENING IS FORECAST DURING
THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS...AND JIMENA COULD WEAKEN TO A TROPICAL
DEPRESSION BY TONIGHT.

Good Morning Hook & Russ & Bob&Susan. I'm so glad to hear all of you have weathered this storm, from your posts it sounds like the worst
is over for you.
I hope the news is as good from all other fronts this morning.....
And I'm with Tony, I can't be there to help with the clean up but I have $$ ready to go when there's some kind of clean up fund started.

Russ/Bob: good to hear you're safe if not completely sound. Hook: I woke up at 2:30am thinking about you and my dad's old place at Teta Kawi so
logged on. All of the reports from folks in the center of this were and are invaluable in helping us visualize what's going on. I suspect that
Asuncion is going to be spared, but wonder about the new road going in after being wiped out last year.
I wonder if Don Juan Cove is full of sail boats? Probably.
Same here on Toneart/Docsmom.

ok it is 6 am , mild showers during the night , partial clouds now , computer models say the storm is headed to the west but it looks like it is well
in to Guaymas and Sonora now and going east.

Russ you didn't say how your place weathered the storm. I imagine the boat house is flooded... but hopefully, the rest is O.K.... Report when you
can. George & I are just so sick. We know this was a really really bad one. I sure hope Lynni came through O.K. Pam

yeah, you guys, please keep the reports coming...you must have generator power as i can't imagine regular power working....still no word from anyone
about flooding along the river in mulege...

Heard lots of fences flattened, trees gone, roofs damaged? Rivers probably north and south will make going or coming impossible for a while.
Daylight will bring vision to see if there is any sand left at 1st point.?
Any info appreciated

buenos dias todos....last night as I was posting a report from Chivato about thier nightmare...we lost our internet and phones and to my amazement,
they are back at the moment.
Chivato some homes are lost and roofs as well...people sleeping in their cars because no one could get out to help...they went through hell.
On the news the images of all the blown over electricity towers around Loreto was stunning...Loreto will have NO POWER FOR 6 DAYS they reported. San
Carlos and Lopez Mateos got trashed pretty bad...no word on the mulege river. My heart goes out to you all in the gulf area....dont hesitate to come
over here for a rest or refuge...locals who arent here yet have offered their homes...and the fishing may be great!!...trying to look at the bright
side.
I will listen to the radio to try to get a sense of road conditions.
It blew about 30 knots last night...not a drop of rain...partly cloudy here this morning...very calm.

just heard on the radio that the highway is not passable from Sta.Rosalia to Mulege....so the village of Mulege is cut off, has no phone or power due
to poles down. Some cars floated down arroyos as always....i will update road conditions as I get them.

Mulegé hit bad.
I am sorry to say that I have just heard from someone here in SD who just heard from her husband in Mulege... The news is not good, looks like the
waters are higher than John and cap that with heavier winds which have really knocked the town for six.
All power, water etc. is out but there is a very strong military presence in the area.
I started this as a new thread for Mulege as it looks like it is gonna be another long few weeks and months for those guys. My thoughts go out to all
the residence and I just hope that there were few injuries (did not have that info at this time, when they called).
There seems to be one phone working, somehow, which is how people are slowly getting out info.
All roads are closed (even if they were passable) - it would be great to hear how people in Punto Chivato, San Bruno, Santa Rosalia faired.
Sad day.
