Many of the Mexican owners do no have computers much less web sites for their rentals. so it would be best to just come here & take a look and ask around. With the Americans & Canadians you just might not find a place for $500 a month & that might just be why you are not getting many replies.

Part of the excitement of Baja to many of us is not having all the details ironed out... go on faith, you will have a great time. Planning everthing and keeping to a ridgid schedule just doen't work in Mexico. Come to San Felipe get a motel room fior a couple nights so you can check out all the rentals. I see signs for rentals as I drive into/ out of town heading south... If you want to be IN town... Have you been to San Felipe before...? It is no Key West... If Key West is the back up, what did you expect to find in San Felipe? BAJA IS FOR ADVENTURE... expect to rough it a bit, go with the flow, learn the word maņana (it doesn't mean tomorrow... it just means not today!).

Ooop! sorry bout that! I thought it was $500 a month! Well, I'm reasonably SURE you can easily find a place for that in SF! I know of whole houses you could rent for $500 a week!

Most people in town that rent apartments do not use the realtors or the internet. You need to be there and ask around. The suggestion to get a motel for a couple days is, I believe a good one. You probably would be able to come up with something suitable.,

As I originally mentioned. There are lots of rentals "in town" in San Felipe right now. I know where there is a beautiful furnished two bedroom condo for $500 a month that includes utilities, propane and satellite tv. Two blocks from the malecon.

There are plenty in all price ranges. I could find you something for less than $200 a month if you wanted (not great).

But people are right. They aren't advertised and they aren't "gringo rentals". Some are really nice, some are not. Just depends on what you want. But most are inexpensive.

I think he will enjoy Key West. If he is there, we won't run in to him at a restaurant demanding faster service or making a scene at a local establishment because something doesn't live up to his internet standard world.
