San Felipe by road in 1948, Desert Magazine


The trip was taken in Feb., 1948 and these 6 pages are from the May 1948 edition.

Agree!!! Gene Kira's book 'The Unforgettable Sea of Cortez' is a must get to look at Baja just before the highway was completed... and changed so much of what we (some of us) first saw on the peninsula!

Made my first trip to S F in 1952 or 53 still remember only 1 cop and the jail was a old panel truck wih wire fencing over the wtindows. that metal was hot in the summer
