Today's Trip

I just know you all are waiting to hear this so here it is.
I been in the old country for 13 days and just returned to San Felipe today. Crossed at Algodones at about 11am (got the Red light but he just asked where I was going - glanced in the back of the truck and said "go")

Had some parts to pick up in Mexicali so headed straight there. Got my stuff (VW parts), had a couple Pollo tacos and a soda and headed south about 1p.

The temp was 117.5 in my truck cab
(My air condeitioner has 4 stages - I opened three of them (windows) . Margie - not using any freon.
I' heading south remember.
near Costco - temp 113.9
N edge of Laguna Salada 112.9
Road to E.J. Saldana 110.5
La Ventana 107.8 a little after 2 pm by now.
El Chinero 106.1
Army checkpoint at Hghy 3 105.6
The aligator sign 102.3
Turning west on Zoo road for 3 miles
My place - in truck 104.1
On my palm fond roofed patio 98.9

Dropped 18.7 degrees in this 110 miles. feels pretty good here also.

And now highway info.

For years we hear talk of a 4 lane road from San Felipo Mexicali - Well, they finally started from this end. Paving north from the arches. Nice 4 lanes except they got something mixed up and put the second 2 lanes on top of the first two?? Nice and thick blacktop but not very wide.Heard they are going to pave about 12 miles which is the really heavily traveled portion.

Have fun and if you want to cool off, come on down.

:biggrin::biggrin:

Hola Lou

I have been putting off going down south because of the heat. I am freezing here in Rosarito hahahaha.
After reading your report, I am already packing. It will be cool down there compared to your area. Damn that's hot!!
