Paella Festival Sept. 5th, 2pm (Finally! Really!)

From our good friend and fellow nomad, Fernando (fdt):

"Hello again;
This is to inform you of the set date for the paella festival at Castillos del Mar. Yes, after much planning and getting everyone involved to agree on the magnitude of the event, the date is set for September 5th at 2 PM.
This is going to be an unforgettable event. We will have of course the paella, beeing served by top chefs from the area and plenty of entertainment, from a fashion show of 2 top designers, to a concert with Antonio De Carlo. I have attached the promotioal poster and we also have a web site you can visit for more information.
http://paellafest.com . Thank you for your patience and support and we hope to see you there.
Respectfully,
Fernando Garcia

More on the Paella Festival

Ok, first of all, I may owe an explanation as for the absence here but it's such a long story ( since the toy drive ) but I have been totaly consumed with running 3 hotels, 1 in Tijuana and 2 in Rosarito. I had a chance to see some of you at Baja by the Sea but not all. In any case I can tell you more at the paella festival that I have organized and is for this sunday september 5th at Castillos del Mar in Rosarito. Thanks to Gypsy Jan for posting the info.
The event starts at 2 PM with paella beeing served by Las Rocas, Festival Plaza, Calafia, Puerto Nuevo II, La Querencia Campestre, Castillos del Mar (us) and a few others. Food should last till at least 5 pm and then there are of course lots of snacks available. There will be wine, beer and other refreshments and all of this surrounded by non stop entertainement. I've set up a program with a fashion show featuring two top designers showing the fall / winter collection, music starting with a Rondalla, Gina y los Traviesos, then Los Moonlights and finaly Antonio De Carlo.
It will be great and you are all invited.
And just to keep up with tradition just mention Baja Nomad and make your tickets half price.
I hope to see you there and also to start posting more.
Saludos
Fernando
PS.- I've built a web site with all the info http://paellafest.com/html/english.html
Here is the comercial in español

Fernando,

Are you saying that if we buy are tickets at the door that we can get 1/2 price just by mentioning Baja Nomads?? So I am assuming that we dont need to get them in advance!

Looking forward to the event!

It would be best to get them in advance but unfortunately I don't have ticket sales set up for the US. If you or any Nomad attending U2U's me or replies to this thread, you can make a printout and show it at the door for your 2 for 1.
I've also set up an email info@paellafest.com were I can confirm the 2 for 1 price.
saludos
Fernando

Great link KASHEYDOG and the best part of this festival is that all the participating paellas will be different. Puerto Nuevo II restaurant is preparing their famous seafood paella.
It's going to be great!

Nomads!
If any of you are going to be there today look for us
If the weather holds out I will be wearing a bright orange dress and my husband has a grayish goatee. We are in our late 40's and early 50's

Also thanks Fernando for arranging our tickets
