First, I wan to thank BajaCactus for all of his hard work!! It takes a lot of time and effort to coordinate. So, thanks BajaCactus!!

I would also like to encourage others to donate to this event. It doesn?t have to be anything elaborate. Just something that Baja lovers will enjoy. The more we have for the raffle the more fun we will all have.

Additionally, I?m always looking for ideas on areas of Baja that I can create prints for. So, please feel free to contact me by email or through my website: http://www.wvvinc.com/

I look forward to meeting all of you.

It is so good to see you post again! Yes, you and BHL need to have a day of fun in Tijuana... So we will see the two BBBB there, right?!

As for door prizes, Satellite Man is correct, winning something makes these gatherings even more fun. We had great success with door prizes at my Viva Baja events... If anyone has a Baja business or related product and would like some exposure or just be generous with your fellow Baja amigos, please contact me... as well as anyone who wishes to RSVP for the fiesta to info*at*vivabaja.com

At Viva Baja we had Baja books, hotel stays, dinners, camping equipment, tequila, cave art tours, and more donated for door prizes.

Thanks Satellite Man!

How close is Palmazul to the Camino Real hotel? I just booked a room there for Saturday night for $80! I hope it is the 5-star hotel that it promises. Based on the other rates, it is!

Baja Talk Radio

is announcing the party and planning on attending. Someone from here, Pat ??? called in. Although he mistakenly gave the credit to D.K for this event, DK probably has his plate pretty full helping Antonio with this event so credit is due.
Anyway, with these guys promoting it, perhaps a little haste in your reservations may be in order.
Count us in for 4 seats ! And that includes the pie lady and trailer dude.

Wow...

Palmazul: I think Marla provided the location... I have NOT been there.

Ted Donavan, Baja Talk Radio: I did not ask him to mention it on his radio show, I did tell him about it (for him and his wife and brother) as it seems that a Baja cultural fiesta would be something he would appreciate.

My part in this: Not as much as it seems Ted thinks! This is Antonio's idea and doing... I am helping spread the word to Baja amigos who have attended my past Viva Baja parties and to Baja Nomads of today, with this thread. I gladly am helping Antonio with logistics, but he is deciding on what we are going to experience and is paying for everything except the Palamazul part. That is, Antonio is providing for the two movies (Sea of Cortez film and Bajo California), guided tour of the Baja California museum, snacks and Baja candies as well.

There will be a sign in/ registration at the movie theatre (probably Tijuana Cultural Center)... that will be confirmed. Door prizes will be offered... I would go just for the chance of winning one of Satellite Man's posters! He is donating FOUR...

Antonio did email me from El Rosario today and said that the first movie will be a bit earlier than thought, so registration will be between 10 and 10:30 am Aug. 22. This has become an all day event instead of an afternoon only event (at no additional cost! Thank you Antonio).

IT IS IMPORTANT that you RSVP per my earlier posts at the email I gave... I have gotten RSVPs at my other email address and U2Us here... but, that isn't what I requested... I will respond and confirm your reservation and then forward your email to Antonio as back up.

We have about 30 RSVPs as of 2:30pm today (8-4-04). There is room for 70 for the two movies. Palmazul has simular room limitations. Please don't show up unless you have reserved a seat... Now, if there are cancellations before the event, anyone who emails me after the 70 limit will be on a back up list and you will be informed if you get in.

More details will be posted here...

10-4 JR, I have you down for 4... The email checks out fine per my web host, sorry it didn't work.

Anyone else have it not work?: Please try again, or use my other emails as back up. I am near my U2U limit, so I may not be able to respond that way and that is why I ask not to count on it, to reach me. My other emails besides info*at*vivabaja.com ?: davidk*at*davidksbaja.com baja4me*at*msn.com for starters. These all have excellent spam and virus filters. Make sure you put 'BajaCactus' in the subject box or it may go out with junk mail.

Do not open any emails with vivabaja.com or davidksbaja.com in the address as they are not from me... Those addresses are for receiving only, replies will come from my msn email.

If you by any chance don't fill all 70 seats, there are a few neighbors I would like to invite. First priorities of course go to the board members and Antonios guests.

It is in the thread Jesse... But, so you don't have to scroll up: The two movies, the museum tour, door prizes, snacks and candies: FREE (thanks to the generocity of BajaCactus and those who donate door prizes).

The dinner at PalmAzul you will pay, however, we will get a free glass of wine and a tour of the restaurant's Baja cave art reproductions and any other peninsula displays (I have never been there) and be seated in our own room and have a 'special' Baja meal prepared by their master chef.

Dress? Heck it's in your city amigo... Since it's an all day event with a museum tour and films, I suspect comfortable/casual... I will let Antonio inform us for sure...
