Memorial Day at Gonzaga Bay
I have read some stories about this event(?) any body have the rest of the story...is it just for the residients...anyone welcome?

Old people are like the old cars, made of some tough stuff. May show a little rust, but good as gold on the inside.

I was not aware of anything special going on there at that time or any other time. But I don't live there only pass thru a few times a year.

The residents and guests of Alfonsina's have a huge pot luck turkey dinner at Thanksgiving, in the restaurant... My son and I were guests of Doug
Bowles in 2002 for the feast.

I will never go there any more. After driving for hours through back country, from Hwy.1 to Coco's corner (great visit there) on to Conzaga Bay, we
could not get a room because of our pet. A well behaved golden retriever at that time. This place is not pet friendly!
The grass is always greener....
and so, there is always a better spot in Baja

sounds like a great place to visit! i prefer non-smoking, non-pet rooms.
p.s. the are is very pet friendly - lots of beach for a dog to swim and play,... and a beautiful desert sky to sleep under.
p.p.s. a golden retriever that has spent the day at the beach is a shagy, wet, sandy dog; guaranteed to make a mess of any indoor space. if traveling
with dog, perhaps camping is way to go!

Wow...more cutting with the ol' knife responses
Not all dogs do the beach. BTW.....my dog sleeps on the floor...that should be mopped clean the next day by housekeeping.

Leo, do you seriously judge a location by the no pets policy of the one motel there? How about camping or RVing to Gonzaga Bay with your goldie? They
are great dogs, I had one... he was so human, I named him 'Sam'... he adopted us!

I forget the name of the place, Maybe DK will remember. But there is another place there that rent cabins. Maybe they will allow dogs. But I like to
camp, usually sleep under the stars on a cot. Tents are OK but you can't count the stars inside one. Be a man sleep in the sand.

Campo Sacrificio... It is just south of Campo Beluga... north of Punta Final. Well signed from the main road... Cabins look pretty good from the
photos posted by another Nomad.

You are right David, one should not judge upon the fact if dogs alowed or not. But after our long track and the hotel not looking really that flashy,
I did not understand what damage a decent dog could do.
As Mcfez''s dog, ours sleeps on the floor and is not alowed on furniture or beds at home either.
Anyway. It's a cute place and I would have loved to stay the rest of the afternoon and night.
Different, allright! Could hardly get in with the high tide. So we had to drive through salt water twice before we were on the road north along the
coast again.
The grass is always greener....
and so, there is always a better spot in Baja

Leo the rooms are OK, but the food is great. If you didn't stay and have dinner you missed out on something really good.

the cove you speak of is incredible...but might think of Sacrificio as the base or "shower" camp...we simply rented a cabin at $48...split it amongst
the 6 folks and spent $4 per person per night for HOT showers, flush toilet, 10x20 patio roof and we let the campers camp around the cabin
caretaker at Sacrificio did a good job of watching stuff
