HISTORY CHANNEL - MAYAN CIVILIZATION

The history channel has a very intersting special going on about the MAYAN CIVILIZATION, customs, beliefs, lifestyle and historical development.

Today they showed how the typical rubber ball used in their ancient ballgame was made. It bounced really high and the loser of the game lost his head in order to please the Gods. We saw the game courts all over the mainland at different archeological sites hundreds of miles apart ...

Yesterday they explained that the highest building at Tulum archeological site may have been made to direct boats into the narrow channel thru a reef - they used to do a lot of trade by boat.
