David K's beloved Shell Island - the rest of the story

I posted a little story sometime in July about a trip to Shell Island. I sent it to the other party and just got this reply from her with her memory of it.

"I didn't know those men were building a bridge....probably just forgot....But, I'll never forget how absolutely dreadful it was to consider hitch-hiking! I stood at the side of the road facing cars headed to San Felipe and for the longest time could not extend my arm and stick up my thumb!

One car went by as I fought with this dilemma....we all know one shouldn't hitch hike -- especially a woman alone...As the darkness rolled in and no cars came along, I finally realized that me thumb had to get out there!! "

All's well that ends well!!

Looks like you hit a really positive cord with the people and brought out some great memories.
This is the kind of friendly stuff we need more of on this board.
Gracias!
