Santa Isabel

Please allow me to introduce myself, I’m a man of wealth and taste. I’ve been around for a long, long year, stole many a man’s soul and faith. Pleased to meet you, hope you guess my name. But what's puzzling you is the nature of my game.

I'm a bit busy with things this week, as you can imagine. My Companero's are doing a great job in this presentation of fact. Look forward to more information leaked over time.

Most of all enjoy, as we did, the magic of the Baja!

Regards to All!!!!

El Vergel, the Vern in our party was the mental stability we needed in the long walk down and back. He was the one pushing and proding us along as only a professional could.

Yes, indeed... as mentioned in my trip reports and the Santa Isabel thread by elbeau, El Vergel (Vern) was my passenger and guest aboard 'A-TRAC One', my four wheel drive go anywhere Tacoma with full four wheel traction thanks to the remarkable A-TRAC device (sort-of a Trans-Warp Drive for off road)!

I am far too humble to embarass my friends, and I wanted to connect with the arroyo on a more personal level!:lol:

I was hoping that Ken Cooke would arrive as he likes to drive over boulders... or on them for photos! My truck is stock, with no lift... so the size of boulders limits it, sadly!;D

Great photos El Vergel! Thanks for making the trip.

While the "mission" pics are a little different than I had hoped, I LOVE the geology photos! Thanks for the detailed pics.

To La Olvidada Barite Mine

After resting up from the big hike, El Vergel and I drive the 6 miles to the mine... Here are some of Vern's photos:

SUNDAY MAY 1

Sunrise on our camp

Good morning David K

BajaLou is ready to roll

Lou's quad with tire gash from the drive in via Gonzaga

Vern, DK, BAJACAT go to El Volcan before leaving for home... It is 0.4 mile south in the arroyo from the road, we were able to drive half that. Then, lot's of exploring around the growing onyx dome of El Volcan...

(Vern took several videos of El Volcan bubbling... I will try and post them...)

Vern's Videos: THESE ARE VIDEO LINKS, not photos. Click on them to view.

Vern took several videos, most just a few seconds long. Here are the first 5 (click on the photo to start video):

1-4 are during the hike to the lost mission (clips # 156, 157, 158, 159) and #5 (clip #179) is at the lost mission. Allow several second for the videos to upload.

More to come!

Next 5, to La Olividada: Click on the photos below to see the short movie clip:

Click on image and wait for video to begin... sound included. NOTE: upon reviewing these, they are only about 5 seconds or less long, so I will see if there is a way to string them together into one longer clip. I know the ones at El Volcan are longer... so be patient please!

MOVIE CLIPS, click on photos

There were at least two bubbling springs on the Volcan geyser dome... on on the top, and a second one near the base... as seen in the last clip, abone.

Last 4 movie clips at El Volcan, then we drive out

The 5th clip has satellite radio playing as we drive away from El Volcan, in the arroyo.
