Being there

I pulled into San Quintin this past May 18 looking for something to eat, looking for a place to stay, not necessarily in that order. I parked just outside a hotel and a north american, foreigner, white guy, whatever comes out, says hello, begins climbing into his van; chatting, tells me it has nice rooms and good food as well. But, he goes on to say, there's a nicer place in town - not many Mexicans there.

Now, I'm inclined to say that i didn't take what he said very seriously but however the thought came up that it is not likely that i will again visit Baja.

In that case...you need to stay away from American Greyhound Bus terminals...... for the pimps will cater to you with promises of the American dream. Hollywood you should stay away from too...lots of seedy motels with bad intents.... wondering around there . In fact....you should invest in a house....in a secure homeowners association that has guarded gates and cold fears within it. Yes....stay away from Baja too.

I see two issues in the original post. First, as many hotels that are in the San Quintin area, I'd guess that each of us has their own favorite for personal taste reasons.

I'd probably be guilty of steering a newbie toward a oplace I liked.

Second thing is that Denaca charaterizes this gringo as assuming he'd refer a place with fewer Mexicans. Now, given visually apparent ethnicity, just perhaps this guy thought he was being funny.

That said, for Denaca to make a statement about never visiting there again appears to me a symptom that his meds need adjusting.:lol:

Or how about those inn-keepers who don't treat you like tourists but as part their family?
