If you ever are in a position again of getting spooled on an outfit, something that would happen every now and then when not anticipating a lunker and being on light gear, I would just tie on another outfit, throw the whole other lash up over the side and keep the fish going.

Just make sure you don't button it up so tight that you exceed the light line which the original outfit has on it.

Thanks Baitcast, good stuff. Far cry from my first visit in the early 90's on the 127' Excel, sleeping in a stateroom with private head and shower, and using two speed reels. We did have Bill Poole at the wheel though and had a nice whack on the 40-60 lb yellowfin and YT to 50. Magical place
