Off Road Expo 2011

Was much bigger and better than the 2009 show (the last one we attended)! Still not as big as 2008 and earlier... the glory years where we had more money to circulate!

Today, we rode up with Josh as he had to retrieve the Ford Raptor Luxury PreRunner that was on display at the Dirt Sports Magazine section in building 6.

Our ride to the expo.

Once inside, lots to see in 3 buildings and outside...

Josh, one of the team at Stewart's RaceWorks that built the Raptors for TSCO.

After the show, we got to ride in it out to the parking lot where it was loaded on the trailer...

To Be Continued...

A 2012 Baja Tacoma, already turned into a race truck!

If you gotta go, but can't stop:

This was super cool... the last time I saw this Mickey Thompson racer was at the 1975 Baja Internacional (500) in Valle de Trinidad, when Mickey and Danny pitted right by my Jeep...

Yup, it is a Chevy LUV with a 454 V-8 in the bed, and an Olds front wheel drive reversed for the rear!

June, 1975:

Mickey (standing) and Danny is checking the tire.

Josh and his mom (Baja Angel)

Show's over... Time to move the Raptor!

Way cool to be behind the wheel of a Half Million Dollar machine!

It is a three seater... and Elizabeth lets me ride in front (no, I didn't drive it out of the building).

Thanks Josh, very cool!

Under the front.

The rear... spool differential (always locked)... tires chirp turning on pavement.

Brake calipers with thermometers!

A great and fun afternoon with Josh and mi esposa at the 2011 Off Road Expo!

Superb photos DK!
I think that when you arrived, the crowd was winding down.
When Jana and I arrived (9:30-2:30), the crowds were large, lots of baby strollers.:smug:

Thank you Udo! I think we got in close to 2:30... Thanks for the Charger score when I called you... and sounds like a great game (beating the Broncos in Denver), too.

David,

I did LIKE the Pacifico Neon...it's cool!

But...when I was reading the post, I didn't have any cold Pacificos in the house to satisfy my sudden craving, so I had to settle for an Ice Tea!!

Michael :lol: :yes::lol: :tumble:
