Chuck's Week Off

Watching one of our favorite shows this week, Food Channel, and "Hey mom" , "Mom look its Junaclito". Hyw 1 above Harry Millers house all 4 seconds of it. Rewind the DVR look, look. Hey there is "El Rays" Loreto with Chuck cooking behind the grill... Rewind.. Rewind.. Rewind.. yep....

Starting this week on the Food Channel it is "Chuck's Week Off". 20 days in Baja filming cookeries.... "El Rays".. yes. Have the DVR set to record. Still waiting for Rick Bayless's show of his visit to Baja and "Jesse's" in La Paz....

KBPS in San Diego began airing Rick's Mexico: One Plate at a Time Baja shows at the end of September and will continue for another few weeks until they hit one of their pledge drives. Maybe you could pick up a feed from them. It airs at 3:30 pm Saturday afternoon.

It's kind of weird seeing places and people you know on the show, but Baja is - as always - extremely photogenic. The episodes that are entirely Baja are better than the ones that cut away back to his kitchen in Chicago. Or at least I enjoy those more.

I recently made one of the recipes from the show - a super easy cheese with fruit salsa appetizer - to take to a party. Needless to say, it was a big hit and I took home an empty plate.
