Let's talk about roads.....Mexicali to San Felipe.

Highway 1 from T.J. south to Cabo has had a lot of discussion as it went from dirt to pavement. I have never read anything about early Mexicali/San Felipe prior to pavement and its changes.

Got stories/photos?

The trip was taken in Feb., 1948 and these 6 pages are from the May 1948 edition.

Excellent post by author Bruce Barber... if the San Felipe area geology is of interest, then you must get Bruce's book ('Of Sea and Sand')

See the book here: http://forums.bajanomad.com/viewthread.php?tid=38751
