Vino and concha in Ensenada this weekend
Saw Udo's mention of the event in Ensenada this weekend.
Has anyone gone in the past?
We would only be able to make the BBQ on Saturday is that worth it?
Also does anyone know the best way to get tickets?
Thanks
Lori

The Sunday Fiesta at Hotel Coral is my favorite wine event of the year. They have controlled how many tickets(still available via Gato's link above)
they sell so that your not crushed by crowds.
Food creativity, taste, variety and quantity is amazing. La Guerrerense was there last year. 2011 review
Oh, yeah, then there is all the wine you can handle, even though it's only "one finger" or so at a time.
HINT: Bring your own wine glass OR several of the wineries will sell theirs for approx $5USD. BYO water and shade, too.

Bajadock, what was that grass-like substance on the ostiones? Lemongrass or something?
Here's hoping someone provides us with some "tasting notes" on the wines being served.

Missed Elgatoloco also...I guess I did not see his costume.
As far as the wine and food...you had to be prepared for tons of variety of mussels (choros) and oysters (ostiones). But they also had some clams and
only a couple of abalones (abulón).
Varietal wines were plenty, and some were very tasty. Most of us went back for several refills.
I liked the hand-held plates that some experienced attendees brought with them.
I'll make a stop at Crate And Barrel next time nearby.

We had family in tow from PA and TX. We all had a very nice afternoon sampling the food and wine. LOTS of great food stuff and VERY liberal with the
pours, I had to make sure and say un poco solamente because I was driving. Not sure how we missed seeing you guys all day, but..........on the way
out to the car lot I heard a big commotion and looked back to see a bunch of gals dancing the can can and being videoed by a VERY sunburn dude in a
brown sport coat. We were already late for a meet up with other family or I would have reversed course and said hola! Next time. Vendimia?
