Just getting the GoPro figured out. That is my first youtube attempt.
The wide angle lens makes the wave look smaller. Even more so on the helmet cam. But you get the idea.

BTW, that wave was two months post-op from my prostate surgery. Feeling pretty good about the recovery. And it's good to be alive and cancer free.

If you add tags and remove a couple things, you can see it here...

The tag in front is: [flash=640x360 ] (a space is added after the 360 to show this, but don't do that)
The tag at the end is: [/flash]
What you remove is the: watch? (and the) =
Then add a: / (after the v)

Here it is, with a space added at the end of /flash, to show the full link:

[flash=640x360]http://www.youtube.com/v/rnKIKcUYuxE[/flash ]

Soul arch's are reserved for the nose or very deep fades on large waves (think BK or Rabbit @ sunset) - other than that, pretty nifty!

Can you use a drop knee to cut those boards back, or would you lose your ACL?

Whoa there, Cowboy - pull back on those reins!

Couple of things. I am on the nose. Camera distorts my actual location. But you really can't call it a soul arch when the surfer is wearing a silly hat.

I've always been a kind of survival shuffle guy, so a drop knee turn is not in my repertoire. But I can switch foot (although I look like a kook) on the rare left hander we get.

Anyhow, the board is an 8'11' so it is pretty easy to turn, especially when you have a paddle to jam in the water as a lever. A laid out bottom turn on a bigger wave is pretty fun with the paddle out there to hold you from a face plant.

And DK, thanks for the tip on posting the link. I'll work on that in the future.
