My comment about her asking about a passport I meant as evidence that she is not Baja savy, not that she needs one.

I guess there has been no new news?

Woody, I was just writing down the info. from the G-ma and asking myself why I'm asking if anyone has..........why haven't I?

Before I make the call, please everyone chime in with opinions and thoughts, my only fear is that I might make things worse.

I'll just say i've seen both sides of this issue many times. i think it's BS on granny's part. call the cops and find out. you don't have to tell them anything, just ask if there is a warrant for the guy, that you may know where he is. you don't have to tell them everything.

G-ma didn't give a last name for William that I've seen, I would have to give too much info. to make the police know who I was asking about.

Anybody else?

I have been there and met the family. At that time I did not get the impression that there were any problems. Other than the obvious boat on the beach stuff.

Are they even still there?
If there was warrant out for the guy why wouldn't the grandmother call the police.

I think since the grandmother has all of the information and knows where they are, she should be the one calling the police in either the US and/or Mexico........let her deal with it instead of involving Nomads....in what might be a family squabble.

I think you are all right, G=ma must have the info. from Jorge that is needed. She must know where they are. I'm going to stay out of it, I just pray they are alright and I'm not making a mistake. Thanks!

Good thing that photo of them picking up a live turtle isn't on Nomad... annoying the wildlife (oh and cross dune driving, beach driving, etc.) really gets some worked up here!

It looks like an epic trip, still... except for the new Jeep down to the doors in mud... nice of the Tacoma to help get him out! Oh Ken, where are you?

It appears that the Mateo-Feo that posted that report on BD, also noted in this thread (on 9/4) that he had left Punta Cono on Wed, Aug 29:

http://forums.bajanomad.com/viewthread.php?tid=61752&pag...

The BD report also notes the trip dates of "Aug.25-sept.3".

David,
It would be my guess that the turtle was dead. It's eyes looked whited out, it's flippers and neck hanging loose. All of the live turtles I come across while on my paddle board can't get away from me fast enough. I've snuck up on a few, but they dart away speedy quick as soon as they notice me. I can't imagine one letting a panga pull up on it and be lifted out of the water.
That was a great report.

we have found alot of dead and dying turtles on the beaches around here and it's easy to pick up a foundering turtle and hold it up for a photo...they are weak and probably dying poor souls...probably not great eating anyway!

They probably have no idea...........unless they monitor radio, or people are coming by.

But Punta Eugenia will keep a ton of waves outta there -- if it doesn't head more North before turning inland -- which is rare.

But who knows?
