New restaurant in Puerto San Carlos

Mar Y Arena (Sea and Sand) just opened. We arrived in town, a group of 12, and were surprised to have the chef come to our hotel to promise us a great meal. Given that this is certainly not high tourist season, I have to applaud his initiative - and to thank him for a great dinner.

Most of us chose seafood, some beef and everyone was happy with their meals. The restaurant is new and they are working on adding accommodations in nearby buildings. Nice bar, lots of room, even a room for private parties.

I'm not a food critic, but I can certainly confirm that this was as good as any of the meals we had from Ensenada to Cabo and better than most.

Thanks for that TecateRay. In our drives north and south we sometimes think about making a detour over to Puerto San Carlos, but are never sure about lodging or eateries. Plus, we are usually wanting to get home or get to our next destination. Good to know there's a decent restaurant - how are the prices? And what's the hotel situation over there now?
