Mood: Have Baja Fever

[*] posted on 10-26-2004 at 08:03 PM

Well, there goes my irrigation business!

Since I will be 'in house' for a couple days, are there any requests or shall I keep doing what I have been doing (ie. posting more classic photos, maps, etc.)?

JESSE and David

I wouldn't take my prediction with a grain of salt, but from the satellite images in Ventura it looks like most of the storm will miss San Diego, likely even less rain further south.

Mike, here in San Diego County they have flash flood predictions for this storm. That satellite image is just one arm of this cyclone... As of 8:53pm it is dry here, but the wind is blowing and there is a big ring around the moon.

One another subject, close to your life, congratulations on the Cassini arriving in Titan space... This moon of Saturn is bigger than the planets Mercury or Pluto, and has an atmosphere!

On the 11 P.M. news last night, the weather pattern had changed, drawing the storm further south. Any damage (other than leaky roofs)?

Yep

When we get this kind of storm down here, there is always a lot of damage and sometimes deaths. Reason being is the folks in the hills get washed away by flashfloods.
The problems here are from what comes from the hills in the arroyos.
If you look between the tipped over chairs in the picture, yesterday that was a cute little bluff area where we used to sit around the fire ring. Not anymore !

3 and-a-half inches of rain in Irvine last night, and apparently more on the way.....almost 10 inches for the month of October!

Rained pretty heavy here in Playas, i say the intensity of the rain and wind was more powerful than the past storm, but it was shorter in duration, i am glad the bulk of the storm passed in the wee hours of the morning.

No damage here that i can see.
