Ensenada bypass road

I've seen various posts about the road under construction just north of the turnoff from outside Ensenada to Hwy 3 (Tecate Road)
I've looked on google earth and it seems to be progressing. I've heard it may be a truck bypass, toll road... Does anyone have the true info on what the purpose of this road is and where it will begin south of Ensenada?

The road

Is "supposed" to be a truck/commercial vehicle bypass of Ensenada. Have not heard anything of it being a toll road.

The original plan was to have the bypass rejoin Highway 1 just south of Maneadero.

However this is Mexico and anything is subject to change.

sign from 2008. Yes I know it is blurry but shows the route in blue that the road is supposed to take.

Just think how much quicker you could get to that spot with an Ensenada bypass? Throw in a San Q bypass and you could cutoff almost 2 hours of traffic! I'm heading south soon...........

1ra means 1st section. Never have seen a libramiento that costs money. A periferico, si. A libramiento no. They aren't going to advertise how much money it costs then turn around and charge for it. I'll bet it will save an hour travel time minimum when finished.

That red route sure is a big detour.

Usually takes me 30-35 minutes to get from 'Nada toll booth down to carr' La Buf. Can't imagine this route helps me.

But, if it saves truck traffic, maybe that's good. Wonder about the ROI on the project.

the road looks like it is big enough to be a through fare. No stop signs etc will make it faster. We will see
