Searching has improved ...

Kudos to what appears to a software upgrade that improved the search functionality.

The old search would provide the matching pages but often not the matching text. You had to open the page to see the text. Now the text is displayed on search page with matching words highlighted.

It would be nice if the search link took you to a new page instead of overwriting the old one.

The good news, however, is that a backpage move no longer erases your search criteria. It's seems to still be there to renew your search.

If you just left click on the item and choose "Open in new tab" it will not eliminate the search.

I noticed that too

While I'm at it, it would be great if the link to the matched page actually took you to the page.

If you find a match to a multipage thread the link always takes you to the first page no matter which page actually matches your search. So there is no way, for example, to search for who said what on the turtle thread. Eventually you will have to read all 80 pages. The search granularity isn't that good on multipage thread.
