I have three copies, for me, myself, and I... but I do share... and seriously the smaller 2003 Almanac shows more detail and has a larger scale... If
you need a certain area map view, send me a u2u.

They have a bunch of Almanacs at Mama Espinoza's. I bought a new one last week and it's at Kinko's getting laminated and bound as we speak.

BAJA CALIFORNIA ALMANACS...
I'm @ Mama Espinoza's right now, and I am picking up 4 current Almanacs.
I was charged $24.95 each.
Just add the shipping and a tip if you wish and I'll send them to anyone.
They had 5 left, so I'm leaving them with one.

David------I can't seem to find any copyright dates on my newer Baja Atlas's---------can you (or anybody) give me a clue where to find the date? I
have several, one bought in 2003 and one in bought in 2004.
Then I have an older version that comes in 2 volumes, one for Norte and one for Sur.
And then I have 2 copies of a really old version that is a different format, and much larger than the newer ones, and both are copyrighted in 1986.
In your evaluation, which has the most detail if you know?

Correction,
I thought they charged me $24.95 each...
what they charged me was 350 pesos each, which comes out to $29.00 U.S.
I still have three left, and the postage is $5.90 plus the envelope ($2.09).

2003 Almanac on the left and the bigger 2009 Almanac... which has a slightly smaller scale for detail, it just has more area per page, so fewer pages
to cover the peninsula.

Here is some comments about the scale I made in 2009:
Well, it is BIGGER (as noted above)... almost as big as the original Baja Topo Atlas. Unfortunately, it is not the original Atlas large scale (1" =
~1.75 mile). In fact, it is slightly smaller scale than the 2003/ 1998 (previous editions) which was 1"= ~ 4 miles... The 2009 scale is 1" = ~ 5.5
miles.
Instead of 55 maps to cover Baja, the new Almanac covers the peninsula with just 22 maps... They do overlap and that is an improvement to following
your route from one page to the next.
Here is San Felipe on the three versions (1986/91, 1998/03, 2009:
(2003 added color for elevations over the '98 maps black/white/red/blue only)

Way too much!!!! My wife called me from Kinkos when she was dropping it off. She said it was gonna be $100 and did I still want to go thru with it.
Turns out there are 33 pages X some square foot pricing ($2.85 sq. foot) plus some setup cutting charges.
I didn't even know how to respond to that type of robbery but I wanted it so bad I said, "Go for it".
I know -- I'm an idiot, BUT this thing is super sturdy and will last longer than the one I bought 3 years ago which is in shreds/ruins.
Really, I thought this type of lamination and simple binding would cost maybe $30.

Kinko's is a lot of things including overpriced. What they did was cut apart and press between 2 heavy heat bonded plastic sheets. The most bullet
prof way to do it. Then "Wire-O" was used as a binder. The weak place is in the binder, it can be replaced, clip rings can be used.
Most sign shops or print shops can a cold press process and do a Wire o binding much cheaper. I took my book apart and Laminated both pages (not
cutting them apart). Then stapled back together. There is some shingling but I new that before I started the process. Most of my other Almanacs have
also been done. I miss not being able writing notes in the margins, It's great to recount past trips.

got the new one via Udo. (thanks Udo!). surprised by the size. like the smaller size better-easier tp pack around. btw dk, that looks eerily similar
to my collection of atlas'/almanacs!

Barry the copyright is on the first page after the cover, lower middle, under the publishers name.
