Road from San Ignacio town to coast?

Has anyone recently driven this road? I hear the first 25 or so miles are now paved, remaining still rough dirt. I've driven it many times but not since 2004. Last few trips I've been able to fly, but will be driving soon with hi clearance 2WD pickup.

Would appreciate a report on road conditions from Any recent travelers to lagoon.

Mil gracias!

Yes, anyone been there yet this year?

If not, we hope we can report in a few days --- maybe. :-)

Just got back from San Ignacio Lagoon a few days ago. The road from San Ignacio to the lagoon is paved for about 24 miles and then dirt for the last 12 or so miles. No real problem areas. We drove fairly slow on dirt and it took a little over 1-1/2 hours. The whales are amazing this year.
