Kenai River in South central AK, or from a Zodiac off the beaches south of Deep Creek on the Kenai Peninsula. Huge tides! As much as +22'. -4', you
don't drive on those beaches without checking the tide tables.
Fishing out of Seward and Whittier is also productive and spectacular scenery.

Caught fish from shore and the bay !! Just don't be in the local "free" hotel.....LOL...the joint with the best view on the planet..talk about torture

Mostly offshore tuna fishing off So Cal when not in Baja. Have also done some Halibut fishing out of Sitka, AK. Not much of a fresh water fishing guy.
The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten.

I'm so proud that we went to this place Ken. The road goes up to that mining operation you see in the background. The snowmelt was so high that the
river was flowing both down the river and the road further upstream. The road looked like the river itself. We drove up to it and realized we couldn't
drive further.
I got out of the suv to see how deep it was and whether there were high spots in the road where we continue driving. Anyway, I spot what I think is a
rise in the river. So Alex assembles his rod and presto he lands a grayling from the submerged road. And it was a good 200-300 feet from the river.
What a surprise.
Eventually I drove that suv right into that water for about 1/2 mile before it rose out onto dry land and continued our journey. We found caribou up
in those hills.

Anyone can catch fish in a boat but only \"El Pescador Grande\" can get them from the beach.
I hope when my time comes the old man will let me bring my rod and the water will be warm and clear.

I'm pretty sure they are related to whitefish. They are a beginner's fish. Fly is dragging - no problem. They'll hit it anyway.
