Marshall Madruga spent most of October traveling the length of the Sea of Cortez. Most days were spent on a 15-foot Bayrunner aluminum boat while a support crew followed him on Highway 1 in his F-250 Ford truck and Lance camper. Madruga will describe that odyssey tomorrow night at 7 with a slide-show presentation and discussion at West Marine, 1250 Rosecrans. The boat, truck and trailer and much of the gear he used will be parked in front of the store at 6 p.m. or earlier. Mexican cookies and pastries await those who arrive early. The night will end with an "everyone wins" raffle featuring donations from Madruga that will include Tady Lures, Pili Poppers, MC Swimbaits, Matsuo Swimbaits, FISH STIX and Marshall Madruga design T-shirts, Mahi-Mahi embroidered hats and signed and numbered lithographs. Also on display will be Madruga's fish print of the 92.1-pound world-record yellowtail (pending) caught in August aboard the Shogun by Kevin Pfeif of Costa Mesa.
