Whale Magic Tours....by Shari & Sirenita

Sirenita & I are excited to announce our new venture called Whale Magic Tours! We are teaming up to guide whale watching excursions in Ojo de Liebre (Scammon's Lagoon) near Guerrero Negro...the biggest whale calving lagoon in the world.

Here is a link to our website for more info
http://www.whalemagictours.com/

Whale Magic Tours offers packages with either nice Hotel accommodations in Guerrero Negro or camping at the lagoon in protected palapas. We make all the arrangements for your rooms, meals and whale trips and can also offer van transportation for groups.

Drive to Guerrero Negro yourself or take advantage of our Fly-in Packages. We suggest staying at least 2 nights so you can go out more than once if you choose to. Our tours are already filling up so it's a good idea to book early so you are not disappointed!

Here is a video of some of our trips..starring lots of you Nomads!

And I thought the tours were the exclusive right of the Ejido/Coop. Licensed so to speak. Learn something new every day.

Oh and their is a typo on the first line of your web site.

I have been guiding in Ojo de Liebre since 1988 off and on and my daughter Sirena grew up in the lagoon and was "guiding" since she could talk!!! hahahaha.

We have been doing trips together on occasion but we decided to team up full time during whale season, give ourselves a name, a website and establish a camp in the lagoon. Look for us in the 1st palapa when you enter the park.

We have lots of neat ideas for our camp we are looking forward to trying out....like whale talks, kids educational programs & games, music, whale stories around the campfire etc.

We will be operating every year from now on and are very excited about the future of our new venture. Look for us on facebook too under Whale Magic Tours.

Ralf, many tour operators bring their tours to the lagoon and like them, we go out with the ejido pangas & lancheros..which we have done for many years....Much of the ejido business relies on tour groups using their pangas.

thanks for the heads up on the typo....it's a new site and we are still working on it alot.....it will also be in Spanish.

Oh sr.californian...I certainly do look forward to sitting around a campfire with you! thank you all for your well wishes.

As many of you know my daughter Sirenita is really coming into her own these days and this project is really about her reconnecting with her roots, doing what she loves to do (yes, the manzana certainly fell close to the tree) and gaining business experience. Not to mention my grandson Izaak will love lagoon life just like Sirena did at that age...with the crew there to spoil him and our amigos to homeschool him at the camp. It will definitely be a fun couple months!

Best of luck to you Shari and Sirenita!

Of all the things to have fun doing in Baja, this is one that Baja Angel and I have not yet done... and I know from the rave reviews you have received in past years, we would want to go on one of your excursions!

I see. so the Ejido still has exclusive rights and you contract with them. OK I wasn't far off then.

Good luck. Will your daughters husband be helping as well?

Shari, the website is fantastic! Loved the video! We just forwarded the link to many friends and relatives in SoCal and the PNW!

We wish all of you the very best in your magical venture!

I really like the idea of a kid's educational program, the earth and her creatures depend on future generations too!

Izaac is so darn CUTE in the pictures/video! I love that he is the third generation of whale awareness and stewardship!

Way to go Grandma, Sirena, and Izaac!

Samba Pa Ti

You really have not experienced the real Baja until you have done the whale thing. No matter how many roads you've been down.
