Jose's Place -La Bocana
Jose, originally from Loreto, moved to La Bocana years ago, got married and started up a carpentry business.....turns out he really loves cooking and
about 6 months ago, heopened up his house to guests:
This is the front with a table and chairs if you prefer al fresco:
This is the inside table which is all carved by Jose, should you prefer inside to outside
and this is the kitchen area and his wife who cooks also:
everything is spotless, the prices are reasonable (average is 70pesos) and the fare is truly Mexican homemade food! Nexzt time I will get some pics
of the dishes he makes. Jose's is another option now in La Bocana. It is located at the end of Calle Erizo, in front of the little tienda.

I've been thinking of returning to La Bocana. It's time . . .
American by birth, Mexican by choice.

Gees, in the past we would drive through La Bocana and there was no place to eat. Juaquin's place was closed. Now we have options --- we might just
have to stay there!
Blanca, simple directions please to Jose's place and maybe a picture from further away that gives a view of the area. Any sign at all?
Thanks.

Sorry, no sign, but the white table and chairs are a giveaway!
Our street, Diana, is Calle Erizo. drive down past all the houses, to the end. Look left and you will see a store and the white table. It is the
second house on the left.
I will happily do a photo path tomorrow ....

I ate at Jose's twice while I was there this summer. Excellent both times.
He is also the bus stop for the van that runs in to Vizcaino.

Hi Diana,
If you know where Les & Blanca's house is, (1) drive down their street towards town, parallel to ocean. If coming from town headed towards ocean,
you would turn right and the end of this street to get to their B&B. Instead, (2) turn left.
In both cases (1) and (2) go to end of street, photo 1. Look for photo 2. As you round the corner you will see photos 3 & 4.

Jose owned and operated a Restaurant in Loreto for several years. La Bocana is fortunate to have him!
He's an EXCELLENT Chef… AND he speaks very good English!

Ahaaaa see? Ididn't know he. Had owned and operated a restaurant there! No wonder he has it down!
He says his stuffed potatoes are good .....
Bryan and I drove down the street yesterday specifically to take the pics for you, Diana!
The great thing about Jose is that he lives there, so he says he is available whenever one needs sustenance! No siestas, no excuses, he is always
ready!

Udo,
What are the legal technicalities of a gringo opening up a restaurant or some such small business in Mexico?
Don't believe everything you think....

motoged-wwhen we started our B&B business, we opened up a corporation in santa rosalia. not too complicated and not too expensive.
hardest part was finding a good accountant. Isabel in LaPaz has proven to be dependable, honest and hard-working.

Blanca, unless someone is a citizen, don't they also need permission from immigration to be legally running a business?
