December Yellowtail are puttin on the pounds in Bahia Asuncion

While there may not be huge quantities of yellowtail around in December in our area, there are some very nice BIG fish. This morning there was a brisk northeaster blowing so Juan & Juan couldnt lift their fish traps so they decided to look for yellowtail instead and caught these nice fish...all over 40 pounds.
We are having a Sunday fish BBQ tomorrow if anyone is in the barrio! live music too
The snow birds coming for the holidays will be stoked!

Hey, those are healthy looking jurel. Congrats to the Juans.

A tad on the smallish side compared to San Marcos tails, though.

That would be a fine full day's work for me! Pretty fish you guys. Sorry I'll miss the party.

timo1 & barbareno wanted to get in on the whoppers and landed these babies for today's BBQ...nice work kids. Barb lost a biggie...Juan thought it was over 50 lbs!!! It spooled and even with 80 lb test...broke off!

But these YT are finicky..there were also 2 cooperativa boats fishing the same spot and neither of them got any fish...go figure! So Barb & Tim gave them a fish each anyway.
