There was an article in the San Diego paper last week that said the road would not be opened until December at the earliest. Problems with cracks, etc.

Yes the toll road is open. I drove it Friday from La Fonda to Ensenada. My car was still rocking and rolling, very uneven pavement in the area of repair. Yes I survived Suicide Run!!!

Ensenada Toll Road Open Now

http://www.utsandiego.com/news/2014/dec/16/ensenada-toll-roa...

Here in La Mision we are celebrating the reopening of the Toll Road and the end of the detour through our Colonia. I post no thoughts on the sustainability of this road through this geologically unsound area :(

So the road is open from TJ to Ensenada?
Sounds like some of the road is open, we are planning a trip in January and it would be nice to know in advance if I need to plan an alternate route.

Toll road is open and clear. They are continually doing repairs and patching on the section from El Mirador to the San Miguel toll booths, survey crews are out everyday checking for slippage.

You can tell by the patching and the swales that whole area is not an "if" but a "when"
